Re: Feature: Remembering Robin Williams On What Would Have Been His 70th Birthday

MSpudley

Just want to point out that although Williams suffered from depression, he was deep in the throes of a rare degenerative neurological disease, and his quality of life had deteriorated significantly. He was undiagnosed until after his death. For a man like him, imagine how terrifying that must have been. Like most here, for me his death was the first celebrity death to really punch me in the chest. Often we hear "There will never be another person like xxx," and in his case it's absolutely true.

Re: Feature: Developers Respond To The Recent Twitter Furore Over The Definition Of 'Game Dev'

Someone needs to get onto the whole "Who is a real gamer?" debate. I always laugh when people jump into a thread with "Oh, she/he's not a gamer, she/he just plays Animal Crossing" or whatever. Go away. If you're gonna be like that, gaming is a hobby, not a profession--it's not like someone's claiming to be a doctor. Oh, sure, there are a handful of people in the world who making their living from gaming, but you're probably not among them, so sit down.

Twitter is awful.

Re: Classic Run-And-Gun Blaster Turrican Is Making A Comeback

Holy shirtballs. Played Turrican 1 and 2 on the Commodore 64 and they remain my all-time fave games. Manfred Trenz did amazing things on that system. Can't understand why this kind of Eurostyle action platformer never really caught on. Been playing Gunlord X on the Switch, which is a fantastic Turrican sequel in all but the name, and now THIS... Aaaahh! Awesome.
