It seems younger Switch fans (and, inevitably, their parents) will have plenty to look forward to on the kids franchise game tie-in front this year. We've seen that perennial favourite Peppa Pig is heading to Switch later this year, and younger superhero fans will no doubt be delighted to fight crime when PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night comes to the Switch in the Autumn.
In this game — another release coming courtesy of Outright Games — you'll get your PJs on and become Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko, the heroes from the kid's TV show. Using their superpowers – speed, super flying moves, and 'mighty muscles' respectively – you'll fight to stop a host of naughty night-time baddies across eight PJ Masks locations, from city roofs and Mystery Mountain all the way to the Moon (wizards unconfirmed). With help from PJ Robot, there's apparently a world of wholesome things such as friendship and teamwork to discover, plus a ton of hidden collectibles and trinkets, we'd wager.
Let's find out a bit more about the key features from the press release:
- BE THE HEROES – Play as Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko
- EXPLORE THE WORLD – Visit 8 familiar PJ Masks locations
- PLAY SAFELY – Use controls designed for little heroes
- STOP THE BADDIES – Save the day from Romeo, Luna Girl, Night Ninja and more
- SEARCH FOR COLLECTIBLES – Find lots of cool hidden items
Let us know if you plan to pick up PJ Masks Heroes of the Night for a young superhero in your life when it lands on Switch later this year.

Outright Games seem to be announcing a lot of games this week, the announcements coming days or hours apart from each other.
And reception continues to be lukewarm at best.
First calculator, then xylophone, after that peppa pig and now this? Nintendo is really letting any games onto the eShop recently
Is it wrong for me to think that it looks, kinda ok??
@1ofUs
Everything Outright Games does gets a physical release, and is priced accordingly.
Outright Games aren’t exactly the best but they do have an audience. My 5 year old and 3 year old enjoyed playing Gigantosurus with my wife and I in four player co-op. And my daughter and I take turns playing their How To Train Your Dragon game on the switch.
They aren’t going to win any awards or anything but my kids like them just as much as Mario and Animal Crossing so I’m all for it.
Also I have fond memories of crappy tie-in games from when I was a kid, so now I’m passing that legacy on 🙂
@Snatcher These guys made Race with Ryanstoysreview. They're basically the LJN (creators of such classics as Town and Country Surf Designs, Pearl City, Hawaii: Wood and Water Rage) of the new generation.
@Jackpaza0508 Yes, but at least we are having games based on movies and cartoons again, they stopped existing some time ago.
@Remerkin my kids are the same. they loved the gigantasauru one as well. and when the new paw patrol one was advertised on tv. i said Im not buying it they asked how much and went to piggy banks and came back with the cash lol
@Jackpaza0508 I will take that has its wrong to like it LOL.
Since when were the PJ Masks voiced by British kids? Last time I saw it on TV (which was when Disney Jr. was still around in the UK), they were the original voices.
@Snatcher I wasn't saying that, I was just saying approach these games with caution
GOTY right there!!!!!!!
Another game I hope my brothers don’t realize it exists
I'm all for TV tie-in games for kids and I know they'll never be BOTW quality, but the fact that these aren't the show's true voice actors raises an eyebrow. I'm not the target audience, but I suspect this bodes not well. Respect your audience.
Blaze and the Monster Machines later this year too.
@Jackpaza0508 There all cursed THO!
@LouBlu08 indeed! Both pj masks and paw patrol are delightfully Canadian in canon
Not too interested in these types of baby "Goo goo ga ga" superhero games myself. But I can see this being popular with 5-6 year olds.
@1ofUs I have a 6 year old, I think he outgrew PJM in the last six months or so but would probably watch a new season if one was made.
I'm thrilled that they're releasing games targeted towards his and younger age groups and putting effort into making the controls manageable
@Doghouse That is true, but Paw Patrol does have a UK dub.
@MSpudley @LouBlu08 At least they do have voices! The Paw Patrol games had silent pups/dogs.
