There's been an interesting trend of smaller developers and publishers teaming up on shared promotions, and another to emerge this week is The Point & Click Sale on Switch eShop. It's live now and a group of 10 games in the genre are on discount, running until 6th October at 8am Pacific / 11am Eastern / 4pm UK / 5pm CEST.
Here are the deals.

Some pretty good options there if you're a fan of the point & click genre, or perhaps if you're just looking for something a little different to try out. The promotion is also running one of those giveaways where - in exchange for your email address - you can enter multiple times by visiting the website, posting on social media or referring friends, so if that's your kind of thing check it out here.
Do any of these deals stand out to you?

I've been waiting for quite some time to get Sam and Max. Maybe now is the time
I’m surprised that the deponia games aren’t part of it.
Sam & Max is the de facto requirement.
Jenny Le Clue is actually a surprise, recommend it for fans of the 2D sort.
@darkswabber well, they recently got a pretty expensive physical version at superraregames.com. So I think they missed this sale on purpose so people will not cancel their pretty expensive physical preorder
I haven't played many point-and-click adventure games because I typically find them extremely obtuse and the puzzle solutions arbitrary. For example, I was very excited for Primordia because I love the aesthetic, but I didn't enjoy it at all. I'm not sure I solved a single puzzle without looking up the answer. HOWEVER, a few days ago, I started another adventure game on Android that I'm g loving. Tormentum: Dark Sorrow. It's on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. The world is so interesting. I love the artwork and mood and sound. There are some interesting decisions regarding loyalty and betrayal. And most importantly, the puzzles actually make sense, mostly. I've had to look up two items I couldn't find. Very fun, highly recommended.
EDIT: Literally just finished it. Excellent game.
Actually, I bought The Longing recently, too. I'm going to play it next.
Lair of the Clockwork God is a slick mash-up of point and click puzzling and 2D platforming that has a wonderful habit of making you feel really clever. I’d give it a strong recommendation (especially at this price), but I’m not certain they ever got around to patching the bugs that were still present when I bought it several months post launch.
@John_Deacon it’s the remake - dodgy changes to voice cast and jokes. Better to locate the original on PC.
@Gryffin I used to LOVE point and click games, but I no longer really enjoy them. Maniac Mansion was one of my five favorite NES games. I bought Thimbleweed Park with such high hopes of reliving that part of my life. However, I have yet to complete it. According to the strategy guide, I'm about 60% done, but I just lost interest in the puzzles. However the story is 10 out of 10.
Thimbleweed Park is the best of the batch. I had an absolute blast with it. Puzzles are hard but fair.
Clearly it isn’t in this sale, but for those looking for a stunningly beautiful and charismatic point and click on Switch, you really can’t do much better than Machinarium. It’s from the team behind the Samorost series, and if you dig it, look up a game called Chuchel on mobile. It’s simply a joy to look at, listen to and play.
Thimbleweed Park was my first foray into the point and click genre and it was a great time, even if the puzzle solutions are obtuse at times.
Okay, last post here, but I just have to say that I really, really wish the Special Edition remasters of the Monkey Island games were on Switch. The second of which is my favourite ever game in the entire genre. They were particularly fabulous on iPad in the early 2010’s.
@The_Pixel_King You're not the only one. Baffles me the series isn't on Switch yet.
It's a pity Darkside Detective isn't there, that's a fab game. Bite-sized episodes, good humour, a cool tribute to The X-Files and Twin Peaks.
Need some recommendations.
Loved the Scumm Engine games, Thimbleweed Park was great, but never tried anything newer than that.
@eltomo Sam and Max. Excellent game.
Sweet deals might get the longing looks cool
No Broken Age or Grim Fandango hmm
Love that the genre is big enough again that this sale can even exist!
Gibbous is amazing. Especially for that price.
I’d get Sam and Max if I hadn’t ordered the physical from LRG.
@John_Deacon Yes! Please do! Also, don't listen to people who complain about removed jokes. The game is 99.5% the same as it was when it was first released.
Sam and Max, Gibbous, and Thimble are all great choices! Sadly this sale is only a SMALL portion of the great PnC titles on Switch.
Other good ones I recommend, or recommended by others….
Night in the Woods
Oxenfree
Leisure Suit Larry (much better reboot than the 360 titles…. shudders)
Darkside Detective 1&2
I’m sure there’s plenty of others im forgetting…. cyanide and happiness, and scheming through the zombie apocalypse….
I can heartily recommend all of these. Lair of the Clockwork God is brilliant.
Love me some point and click adventure games. Thanks for all the recommendations. Might have to pick up Lair of the Clockwork God.
Played Sam and Max, Thimbleweed Park, and Jenny LeClue. I recommend all three. And yes, Monkey Island needs to be on Switch.
Unavowed is awesome, one of the best adventures of late.
