@Joe11 I think they just include the original Final Fantasy VII game to download now, I already have it so can’t pre-order these. Reckon the price will be the same @ £39.99 but without the free game later on..
I’d of bought more third party games at launch but storage space is a major concern. By the time I’d put my best Switch 1 backlog on there, and a few new games there’s no space left, this is with the 256GB micro SD express card. No way I’m using 50GB for games like Street Fighter or Yakuza! Like a lot of people have said if the games had been on the cartridge it wouldn’t have been an issue. Even on sale I doubt I’d bite as just don’t have the space until bigger micro sd express cards are available.
You get Astro’s Playroom free with PS5 which shows off the features of the Dualsense controller and is a beautiful fun game to boot. Charging for a ‘welcome tour’ really doesn’t help Nintendo’s increasingly greedy image. It’s like having guests over for dinner and charging £7.99 for entry, ‘you’re welcome’!? But, of course I bought it anyway, because…
Keeping my TOTK OLED, I have 300+ games installed on it, no way they are gonna fit on the Switch 2 with the currently limited storage options. So will keep Switch 2 for like, Switch 2 stuff
The stand-alone and Mario Kart World consoles have been available to pre-order on the UK my Nintendo store for the last couple of days now for Switch Online members. Still in stock as I write. I think there are going to be a lot more of these things available than retailers would have you think...
I ordered a 1TB Micro SD Express from Amazon UK a few days ago, £166, it’s an import from Amazon US. Expected between May 12th to May 31st, so just in time for the big day! I also remember a number of years ago when the original 1TB Micro SD cards were released, they cost more than the Switch console itself! I topped out at a 1.5TB card for the OG switch, which is enough to store 300 games with 200GB left (about 1/3 of my Switch library..) Here’s to going into the next generation with a humongous backlog
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed I got one from Smyths Toys in the UK, it’s where I ordered my original Switch from. Despite the literal thousands of £££ I’ve spent on Switch digital games over the last 7 years (700+ titles), I did not yet qualify for an invite for the Nintendo Store because I was in a family plan for NSO! (Not the main user) ;(
Not at all the point I was making. This should have been out a year ago, the switch got too old and I kinda moved on already. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion however Like I said, I hope the Direct can rekindle the excitement. . .
Nintendo have dragged this out for at least a year too long, I’m afraid that I may of stopped caring at this point Hopefully the Direct will re-ignite the enthusiasm!
Got an extra 10% off buying direct from Western Digital, just had to sign up for their email newsletter. Was out of stock, but back in stock today and they are now preparing the order for shipping. Happy days ;0)
So happy with the new icon! I know many people may not care, but some of these crappy icons just look cheap. We have like zero customisation options on the switch so can at least have decent icon art for the games. I’ve literally deleted software in the past soon as I’ve bought it just because the icon was so bad! Icon OCD may be more common than everyone thinks…
Ah, I remember having a CDi, I thought it was the best thing ever! (How times change..). I loved these Zelda games, completed the first two - admittedly they were the first Zelda games I’d ever played. Pretty sure they were £40 a pop back then! And pretty tricksy if I remember correctly.. I’d buy them on Switch for sure, although I suspect they have not aged well…

Re: Switch 2 Owners Might Want To Check Out This Handy Update For Vampire Survivors
It actually runs way better on Switch 2. There was a lot of slowdown on the original switch when things got busy, a lot smoother to play now.
