this is good for the company. This gets people talking about the game, and it gains customers. This lets them spend less money getting their ad out there as people will share it and the ad will spread via people tweeting about it. Its a pretty common marketing tactic in this day and age.
@Not_Soos From what I know he was a pretty good Prime Minister; Japan had some deflation for some time, he pumped some money in and it improved. The korea thing is probably the main negative thing. He apologized but I think people wanted him to do More? I'm not very acquainted with the situation.
Hmm.. This got me thinking. M&L sells about as well as mario party. Maybe they can give the IP to another developer. Maybe they can give it to Next Level... Wait tanabe works with NL games so... maybe monolith
@MeowMeowKins To be fair, Paper jam was the only game I didn't play through multiple times. Maybe if I play it again I might dislike it more, but really my main gripes with PJ was that it felt bland, but the gameplay was there so i enjoyed it.
The first time I played Dream Team I recognized that it had way too many tutorials, but since M&L games are intrinsically fun, I still enjoyed it. When I came back to it however, I found that I disliked it more than the first time.
Here's the list of my grievances
1. First 10 hours of the game is super slow. You can't pass a single screen without another tutorial. 2. Dream world combat never clicked with me. 3. Tutorials leading up even into the final part of the game. 4. Finding and rescuing pillo's devolved into a chore; I couldn't get myself to save more than 17
@LavaTwilight I guarantee you that half the purchasers are kids who are fans of the sort and don't have a real sense of money since their parents buy them everything
About what I expected, 81 on Metacritic, and the negatives being the battle system. While I'll still pick it up because I have nothing else to play, what bothers me is the wasted potential this game had. If they made the battles less gimmicky and more useful, I think this game could have been comparable to the original game.
I watched one of the twitch streams, and I just say, the treehouse people did a horrible job making the game look interesting. Thre are so many more interesting things in other regions, (the one I saw was the desert), but they insisted on showing the tutorial region, which is almost never interesting. NIntendo Treehouse also usually odesn't limit themselves to the tutorial area either, so I don't know whats up with the boring tutorial level they showed.
@Fandabidozi Buy Luigi's Mansion 3. While I think this game will probably be enjoyable and a fun time, Luigis Mansion 3 was something else. I recommend buying that one.
@StevenG I agree, note how I said "traditional" because of the no world map and loading screens, I think that the heart ups from sticker star will probably be returning, but, this time it looks like there are a lot of them, so my theory is that you can but them from a shop with your coins.
Edit: Actually it works exactly like sticker stars heart ups. But.. I still think the game will be fun because to me it looks like an improved color splash and the battle system looks better than Color Splash's, and that really was the major problem with the game

I've just realized something. Origami King's Battle System is sort of like Radiant Historia's

Re: Poll: What's The Best Paper Mario Game?
@MeowMeowKins
Mine would be too:
Bowser's Inside Story
Superstar Saga
Partners In Time
Paper Jam
Dream Team
Re: Poll: What's The Best Paper Mario Game?
I feel like the results are pretty obvious:
TYD
64
SPM
OK
CS
SS.
Not my pick, but that's what it'll be. I feel like a M&L poll would be a little less obvious.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Paper Mario Game?
Really wish there were .5's. I think that 7.5 rather than 7 is what paper jam would be, as I don't think its a seven or an eight.

Well, they ported Catherine, I hope they port P5 too.

@RCGamer FE has barely any exploration, that would not work at all

@Bl4ckb100d Unless its a M&L thing where he gets possessed that's highly unlikely
