Actually, the Pennyblood/Armed Fantasia Double Kickstarter project already announced that they would bring the game to the next gen switch, and that was 2 years ago.
@Troopage the art style used wasn't the issue. The issue is that the game looked like poorly made port of the game to a new game engine like the GTA Trilogy. It used the same models, textures, and animations as the original release.
Well, depends on the series, a Mario game can really be started anywhere, same with Final Fantasy.
Some titles, while technically can be started anywhere like the Xenoblade titles, are best experienced if played in order, especially if the title is as easily available as the Xenoblade trilogy.
Meanwhile, a games series like the Legend of Heroes: Trails sub series is best played in release order due to how much each title builds upon the previous titles where the story is concerned. While you wouldn't necessarily be entirely lost with the first title in each saga, their direct sequels will definitely start to loose you as the games starts introducing story beats and characters from previous titles. Also Trails of Cold Steel has an anime currently airing as of time of writing that fills in the gap between cold steel 1-2 and 3-4.
@pixelpatch highly unlikely it is due to turnover, companies owned by Nintendo, and Nintendo themselves have a history of people working decades with the company. Nintendo actually treat their devs really well.
@nessisonett that is entirely up to XSEED, as they have the publishing right to Cold Steel 1-2, not NISA. and Falcom aren't interested in making games for any non PS platforms, so it is up to the localization companies to make ports of the games.
Meanwhile Avengers can sell 5M copies and be considered a flop, when will S-E ever learn... same thing happened with Tomb Raider when it was rebooted, it also sold 5M copies and was a flop. Dont over spend and over project.

Re: Feature: Nihon Falcom's Trails Of Cold Steel Rivals Game Of Thrones In The Worldbuilding Stakes
@Daniel36 I can understand not liking Cold Steel, it falls into a lot of anime tropes that Sky mostly avoided.
