Somehow I knew my scroll wheel would get a workout on this comment section.
Some people have no chill. That goes for both sides.
I'm curious how many people that were glad the first game got censored are mad this time, or vice versa? It's all the same to me. I'm a little disappointed, and also think it's sort of hilariously MORE offensive to whitewash the Native American inspired class with a COWBOY of all things, but people will complain about anything on the internet, lol. (And I'm native american before any smelly hipsters try to lecture me on 'appropriation')
For a moment I though Wonderful 101 was one of the games on the Wii U shelf and I got excited. I mean, I bought my Wii U primarily to play it, but I guess I'm the minority.
Neat idea either way. Can't wait to set up my Nintendo store next to the hospital full of skeletons!
People keep arguing about whether we're getting Gen 7 or Pokemon Z, but has anyone considered that maybe it's both? Pokemon company does follow patterns, sure, but they also like to mix things up. Like how we got Pokemon Black2/White2 instead of Gray. A direct sequel to the events of a previous game rather than another retelling. In ORAS we had the Delta chapter which not only added onto the existing story but specifically acknowledged there are multiple, co-existing timelines (something else Black/White touched on). The games have become more narrative heavy since Gen 4, which was the last time we got a true 'middle' game in Platinum. I don't see why they couldn't make a gen 7 with about as many Pokemon at gen 6 and have Zygarde still play a major role in it. A sequel and a new game. We still haven't even explored Southern Kalos.
I had an experience sorta counter to everyone else. The demo sorta turned me off the game after I had been burning up for it for a while. The combat just isn't fun. It's involved enough that you can't just switch off and grind like you can a Pokemon game, but it's simplistic enough you don't need to focus your full attention on it unless it's a boss or major enemy.
It honestly reminds me a lot of everything I didn't like about another Level-5 RPG, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Now it's one of my all time favorite JRPGs, but the combat got absolutely mind numbingly tedious while the difficulty got absolutely nerve-wrackingly difficult about half-way through. So you HAD to grind. A lot. I ended up falling back on super cheap tactics using monsters I didn't particularly like because they were better at automating through the monotony.
Even though the demo was short and sweet, I could already feel that same lack of investment in my monsters. I told myself that it's just because it was a demo and the full version I would have more freedom to get comfortable with my lineup, but that still doesn't change the fact I was bored.
I've never played a Level-5 game I didn't love, but this game is already dated, and I'm not sure I can be convinced to go back and get it knowing that 3 will be getting localized.
