@Aneira seriously holding up SH2 as the pinnacle of SH games is a bit unfair. 3 and room were pretty stellar titles with their own unique take.

I actually really enjoyed the Fatal Frame entry on Wiiu. It was creepy and tense. Yes the writing was a bit hammy but most Japanese games have hammy writing.

@zool except it's not just japanese market. The reason FE became super popular is because of the social support aspect of it. And it's not just FE that does such things. Assassins creed, dragon age, mass effect, witcher etc all have relationships intermingled through their stories. So I'm not really sure what you're debating here.

BUT the game we are getting includes romance and uses it to impact gameplay so I'm not sure what you're actually going on about.

IS have included romantic relationships in the FE narratives for decades. Now they have made them more mainstream and we can thank Awkening for that and for future games because of its success.
It's hardly a big ask from a game developer that is putting romantic relationships in their game to not convey homophobia. Unless I'm wrong in that?

Why do most people view this as "amazing, significant" boost? Having a couple of hrs extra battery life isn't really a wow factor and if this is Nintendo's idea of a switch enhancement I am worried for future upgrades.

@DeathByLasagna what you're seeing is what you're getting with this game. I wouldnt hold out hope that they are concealing some major improvements for release. This game is just US/UM with updated shaders, some new pokemon and vastly less pokemon, recycled animations for almost everything. So if you want to pay 60 bucks for a 3ds game go for it. Just dont be surprised when you feel deflated.

Ultimately if you want to play just another pokemon game be my guest. It just doesnt help the cause to enact change needed for GF to make these games much better than they are.

They look nothing like older gen pokes that have been needlessly cut just to put these new 1s in. Dont you realise that GF are the best developer in the world and they could literally crap on a plate and they would eat it up every single time. Oh GF your tired ass games are beautiful.

@xmrmeow so youre reducing my argument down to being pissed about cut pokemon. How many times do I or others have to explain this.
Its about so much more than the major issue of cutting pokemon. It's the deceit and apathy. It's the recycled 3DS game we are getting for a home console but with less content. It's the increased price for a 3DS game on the switch. It's the complete lack of consideration GF has shown towards fans for years. This has been building since the removal of battle frontier.
So no I'm not going to just drop it. I'm going to do my best to help people realise the degregation of the pokemon games and how the community needs to make a stand. And i dont care how many of you tell me to stop it or leave it alone. I wont until I get tired and right now im fully energised.

@Pignot I guess therein lies our difference. I dont like being lied to or rewarding companies with my hard earned money for games that do not meet my expectations or indeed the expectations that companies have set themselves. I have wondered if they were honest in saying they didnt have the time or skill to make a fully realised console game then I would have an easier time with that. It's the lies about improving stuff that really grates on me. At this point I think Nintendo needs to step in and support them. But as it stands I will not buy a game based on lies.

People are furious that Game Freak have falsely claimed an improvement in animation, graphical fidelity as reason to cut pokemon. Yet none of what they've shown so far substantiate their reasoning. Therefore people are like wtf? This is why we dont get the Natdex? Gtfo of here GF.
