Re: Renegade Kid's Upcoming FPS Will Focus On Single Player

Gustoff

About time the 3DS is getting a FPS. Sheeesh! This one is one to keep an eye on. Heard good things about their previous FPS games, so here's hoping they use the 3DS capabilities to its max. As far as the multiplayer goes, i really don't mind it not having it. I do hope that it has the focused single player mode along with a skirmish/combat training mode where you battle bots. Or a survivor mode...that would give the game replayability far beyond the single player campaign.

Re: Heroes of Ruin Demo Available This Week

Gustoff

Here it is, straight from the Heroes of Ruin website. Looks like NA will get the demo at a later date.

"HEROES OF RUIN DEMO OUT IN EUROPE THIS WEEK
Demo available from Nintendo 3DS eShop tomorrow
6th June 2012

Do you have what it takes to be a hero? We’re not talking about just any old hero either, but a Hero of Ruin? Well, wonder no longer - from tomorrow you will be able to find out for yourselves when the Heroes Of Ruin demo launches on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Europe.

Not had a chance to go to E3 2012 and feel like you’re missing out? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered – the demo on the eShop has the exact same content as that which E3 attendees will be getting to play on the show floor.

The demo gives you two classes to choose from, the wily Gunslinger and the noble Vindicator, both of which you’ll be able to customize to your heart’s content. However, to quote some venerable ancient wisdom, “it’s dangerous to go alone!” so we hope you’ll be pleased to hear that the demo supports drop in/drop out co-op multiplayer over both Local and WiFi for up to four players.

The demo’s quest takes place within the Elder Forest, so called from ancient times when the spectral Elders of the forest called this area home. Whether you have your Hero rush forwards to meet their destiny, or go off the beaten path and engage in side-quests, all depends on your play style as an adventurer in the world of Veil.

We’ll be posting some helpful hints for the European demo later on this week and we’ll be sharing more information about the North American demo at a later date."

Re: Heroes of Ruin Demo Available This Week

I'm so jealous right now. This is the next game i'm thinking of getting and was going to wait on reviews from different sources. A demo would convince me otherwise even before reviews. Please bring to NA soooooooooooooooon!!!

Re: Rumour: Nintendo to Announce Bigger 3DS Tomorrow

Gustoff

Might be true, wouldn't be surprised. Although if they did announce a bigger 3DS tomorrow, I would imagine that it would also have the second circle pad already built in. I personally would not shell out another $250 for basically what i already have. I love my compact 3DS and don't really mind the Circle Pad Pro that i already have. I'll wait till next years redesign and then might consider upgrading.

Re: Colour-Based AR Patent is Hot Stuff

Gustoff

That is such a cool idea. Could they maybe do a system update and add this to the already existing AR games that came included with the 3DS? Or would they make us pay for a whole new app? We'll play the waiting game i guess...

Re: Nintendo Patents 'Ornamental Design' for 3DS Circle Pad

Gustoff

@hendie001
I too had to wait a long time to finally find one at Gamestop. They finally told me to come back on a Tuesday as that is when their shipments came in. So i went the following Tuesday and they said they had only received three CPP's and only had one left, which is the one i bought. Keep your hopes up, you'll find one eventually.

Re: Nintendo Patents 'Ornamental Design' for 3DS Circle Pad

Gustoff

I for one am enjoying the circle pad and even the circle pad pro. I don't think i'd want the little snub sticking out. I do hope the redesign has both circle pads embedded into the system though. Not complaining about the circle pad pro, just saying. If only the circle pad pro were compatible with all games already released for the 3DS, i wouldn't even take it off the system. Unfortunately, i have to keep swapping when going from RE:Revelation/MGS3D to MK7/NFS:TheRun.

Re: Mario Kart 7 Update Available Now

Gustoff

@James
Thanks, yeah, that forum is where I got most of my friends list from. I've got about 10 spots left to fill up to the max 100. I'll look for your FC on that forum. If you care to add me, my FC is 1805-2174-4646. I'll have to add you later when i get home though as i cant do it now cause i'm at ...

Re: Mario Kart 7 Update Available Now

Gustoff

@James
I know this isn't the place for this but, how can we exchange Friend Codes to play online? Or do you only exchange with close friends? Maybe your FC is already filled to the max 100. Just checking...would like to have you in my Friends list. I understand if that's not possible.

Re: Heroes of Ruin Alchitect Trailer is 3DS Gold

Gustoff

This is a definite buy for me. I love the fact that the stages will never be the same no matter how many times you go back and play it. That's awesome replayability in my opinion. Also the drop in/out gameplay for up to four players. Plus voice chat when online and streetpass/spotpass included. Also, i want to support n-Space as they've made the awesome portable titles of Call of Duty. Here's hoping they release a CoD title for 3DS as well. Can't wait to get this!

Re: Kid Icarus Ignites 3DS Sales Spike in Japan

Gustoff

@James
Yup, you are absolutely right IMO. I just get frustrated that when its a Nintendo product that is doing poorly, a lot of people start saying "i told you so". But when it's a Sony product, its more like "its doing good and as we expected". Just compare the remarks between the two consoles from when they started out. I for one hope the PSVita turns around because it does have lots of potential. And with titles that interest me like FPS, i might even consider getting one, at the right price that is.

Re: Kid Icarus Ignites 3DS Sales Spike in Japan

Gustoff

Wowza! And to think that a couple months ago everyone (mostly) was considering the 3DS dead in the water. Seems everyone was WRONG!!! I was expecting the PSVita to be a good competition but seems like the PSVita is the one dead in the water now huh? But then again, you don't hear that kind of talk for a Sony product. Boogers! Strange how i haven't heard any numbers on the PSVita for the USofA...

Re: Feature: How 3DS Brings a New Dimension to the DS Family

Gustoff

Definitely more to come! I really do like the CPP, even though it adds to the bulk of the system. I hope that more first and third party FPS are on the way because of it. Some i wish to see are Call of Duty, Metroid, Conduit, a Fallout style game, etc. 3DS has far exceeded what i expected when i first got it. A great first year and better things to come i'm sure in its second year of life. Keep on gaming 3DSers!!!

Re: 3DS, It's Your First Birthday in North America Today

Gustoff

I haven't gotten anyone yet. Oh well, maybe by this afternoon. I got my 3DS day one and only paid $60 for it since i traded in my old PSP, 6 PSP games and like 2 DS games. I don't regret trading in my PSP and would do it again if i had the PSP Vita. HA! 3DS has been awesome in my opinion, far exceeding the DS and DSi. It's going to be a great 2nd year for 3DS with titles such as Heroes of Ruin, Luigis Mansion 2, Animal Crossing and hopefully a Call of Duty game in the fall. GAME ON 3DSers!!!

Re: Review: Need for Speed: The Run (3DS)

Gustoff

Got the game yesterday. And all i can say is that it has all that i wanted in a racing game. I haven't tried out online yet. Anyone want to exchange friend codes to play online sometime?

Yeah, MK7 has tons more options and modes, etc. But this is more of a true racing experience with real cars and real circumstances (cops chasing you down). That's what i like in a racing game. Plus, you can be the cop in some of the challenges. To me, you can't compare a Mario Kart racing game to a NFS racing game. Anywho, if you have this game, lets exchange FC's and race online.

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)

Gustoff

I was thinking of not getting this one until i read the review and saw the first level being played by IGN Entertainment. It looks just too AWESOME!!! I only wish it had more online options.

Re: Talking Point: First-Person Shooters and the 3DS Circle Pad Pro

Gustoff

I've been waiting for news of an upcoming FPS for the 3DS. I really thought Activision was going to have n-Space develop COD for it this year. Maybe next year. But @pixelman brought up a good point. I would buy "day one" from Gameloft: Modern Combat 3(their version of Modern Warfare) or even N.O.V.A. (their version of Halo). I was actually looking at purchasing for my ipod touch yesterday but thought better of it.

Re: Review: Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D (3DS)

Gustoff

@ryanthehedgehog

I completely agree. If you're a RE fan, pick this one up. I have the original RE:DeadlySilence for the DS and this one knocks it out by a long shot. No comparison to any other portable game. Actually it compares to the RE games of the gamecube remakes, remember those?

Re: Review: Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D (3DS)

Gustoff

I've been playing the game since last night when i got it. Just played it a few minutes ago during my lunch break. I saw no glitches, hiccups, slow framerate or anything that some reviewers have been complaining about. The game is absolutely awesome and addicting. Graphics are just beautiful.

Re: The Sims 3 Coming to Wii, DS with Exclusive Features

Gustoff

Dude, where you been WiiLovePeace?

I'm a fan of handhelds, but i played Sims 2 on Gamecube and couldn't put it down. Just the fact you can build your own house, customize it, and the furnish it...that in itself kept me up hours. That's besides keeping up with the story, challenges, social talks with neighbors, etc, etc, etc...

Handheld Sims are also pretty good, especially since you can take your sim on the go. Think i'll take out my sims 2 on ds and play it tonight. On this, you run a hotel with a casino, paint studio, (make)music club, etc etc etc.

Check out some reviews at IGN, Gamespot and others.
