@Peach64 It didn't sell poorly. It didnt sell like its predecessor, but 140k is on par with other nintendo RPGs like last story. The game didnt got good word of mouth like xenoblade to sell for a long period of time.
Even if it failed to sell more than the first game, it still sold better than stuff like wind waker, tropical freeze, whooly world... In fact, it sold better than a lot of stuff on the wiiu.
@Octane reeeeally doubt it. Historically, the holidays in Japan favours much more the nintendo systems than sony. The ps4 will sell better for a while, but it probably wouldn't beat wiiu in december.
I found the game to be pretty boring and repetitive, but the story is quite good as so is the graphics. A shame the framerate goes to hell in the last chapters.
@Artwark These are very different games (not to say that fe if sold more than tengoku). Rpgs are much more frontloaded. Fire emblem if already sold more than half a million, passes awakening and is the second best game in the history of the franchise in Japan. It's a huge success. You dont need to get worrier about how the game fared. It's already one of the top RPGs in the country, losing only to real big stuff. Also, tengoku is, historically, a bigger franchise.
@Artwark Humm, maybe because the game was released 3 months ago? Also, rpg an as a genre have usually shorter legs. It's already the second best selling FE ever in japan and outsold Awakening in less than an a month. It's a huge success for the series.
@PlywoodStick lol. You do know that the Dreamcast only sold 9,3 million according to sega Sammy, right? That number people usually uses of more than 10 million is just a hoax. Wiiu outsold it since last year.
@roboshort wow, you will actually pick the shogi game? I was interested, but 6000 yen for it is a bit steep. Will get taiko and the best price version of puyo tetris. Maybe genei ibunroku. A shame, cause i really wanted to play starfox and now wiiy holiday got completely destroyed in Japan
@carlos82 It already had. Wiiu is on course to have its best year in Japan thanks to splatoon and both wiiu and ps4 are the only platforms to show grow year on year.
And i don't think Mario lost it. I like mario and had no interest on this one and i guess most people also didnt. Either way, Mário 3d world first week was 100k and it ended up selling on the north of 600k in Japan and 4,3 million ww, so i think people should calm down
@SahashraLA ? Fatal frame sales were on par with the usual for the series and the game wasn't even released this year. Also, no one knows how much Devil's third sold since it never sold at retail in Japan at all.
@Kirk not in Japan. Not at all. Dont know if in the west its being hyped though, but in JP you cant even compare splatoon with this one. Dont believe it will have long legs either.
Also, i'm a bit surprised with marimake sales. Didnt saw much hype for it, unlike with splatoon that everyone was talking about in japan and i couldnt even find a copy. Both of the games got a pretty big push though.
@gatorboi352 you can't compare this to splatoon at all. The online got some nice ideas, but the game itself is not fun, unlike splatoon, which is the polar opposite. Splatoon is quite bare, but executes everything it wants to do flawlesslly. Devil's third online is fun and i played a lot, but the bugs, glitches and the bad gameplay are just as frequent there as they are on the single player. It doesn't matter if the siege parts are well though (and they are. Easily the best part of the game). The game itself is not that good and never touches the quality of splatoon in anything.
Also, the japanese version has no microtransaction. You win eggs every day and level up and that's it
@Yorumi you do know that this game doesn't resemble tekken at all apart from the name, right? I bought tekken tag 2 on wiiu and got severely disappointed with this one. Not going to get this at all
@Quorthon i dont think you are wrong, but i disagree with your examples. Deus Ex is a port that got pushed back so it could be reported to other systems as both a new game or dlc and was more expensive on the wiiu for that. Even the new functionalities that the wiiu had bringer were ported. Ninja gaiden 3 was quite bad at start, only having a patch later on that still didnt fix everything and, later, had a better port too... Mass effect with all the debacle.. Cod on the wiiu got a lot of problems...
Those are not games that made anyone fell respected. For games that did try i would say Resident evil revelations is an example. Tekken tag too. Hokuto no ken... I think some of them Trier hard, but there were some ports with a lot of problems that really shamed others.
And even then, some of them did good. Like Rayman, the first Scribblenauts, Monster Hunter, LEGO... Because this is the audience that got cultivated on the wiiu. Thats why you still see Disney, skylanders, licensed games and other stuff coming. Because people buy these games. Not the usual third party stuff. Not any crazy thing against third parties, its just demographics. Most of the people dont even care who made the game.
But i never said you did. I've mentioned that the last LEGO games sold better on the wiiu than on the xbone, ps4 and ps3. That's not even a vgcharts thing. NPD showed that. Even though the ps4 and xbone sold much more consoles on the West, its clear that nintendo focus on games for all ages helped this. Even though the installbase is smaller, there is already enough people to generate good sales. If this game will have the same fate i dont know.
And i dont know about injustice, but arkham origina came later and they still tried, only for the dlc to fare so bad that they had to cancel most of the dlc and refund the people that paid in advance. After that, they never tried again, even in cases where the wiiu version sold quite well, like LEGO batman.
@Quorthon You recall it wrong, Quorthon. WB did some tries at preorder stuff and dlc with the wiiu with Batman arkham origins and the results were underwhelming. Nintendo is not at fault here. Its the public.
Also, WB is not publishing these games as tokens. Most of the last LEGO games fared better on the wiiu than on the other consoles, with the exception of the 360. That's why they keep making these for the system, but didnt try with mortal kombat after injustice didnt sold well. The audience on the wiiu goes well with these games, but its not an audience that buys dlc. Thats the only reason.

Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin
@PlywoodStick nope. In fact, the Dreamcast sold even less. 9,13 million. There is a lot of stuff coming to this number. You can find a compreensible data here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=149907650

@Peach64 it already did on famitsu, which counts the digital cards (where MC does not).

Re: Splatoon Has Inked 1 Million In Sales Since Its Release
@Peach64 well, if you count the numbers, you will see its actually at 1,1 million already, só it's a little more!
Also, Hyrile warriors is not developed by nintendo. It's koei tecmo. Nintendo only published it outside of Japan
