Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

@Kirk The Rare collection is a good value, you're right about that. The problem is that I already own all of the games that I like on the Rare collection, so there's no need for me to buy it unless I really care about having them all in one place (Which I don't). So while the Rare collection may be objectively a better deal than Mario Maker, the former has no value for me whereas the latter has a lot (like you said, LBP but smaller in scope).

@Kirk I agree with all of your points except for the Rare 30 game collection thing. That game is a stupid cash-cow. I was so mad to see that reveal. They basically said, "Hey! Remember how awesome Rare USED TO BE BEFORE WE RUINED THEM! Here's a whole pack of games to remind you that you'll never get another good Rare game again!!". I would have taken one new Battletoads or Banjo Kazooie over 30 existing games for $30.

Mario Maker, on the other hand, is offering something completely new that people actually want. Again, I agree with your other points, and I'm not arguing that Mario Maker makes up for the lackluster E3 presentation by Nintendo. Just saying, that Rare collection is a spit in the face in my opinion.

@Peach64 To be fair, the Zelda multiplayer game looks like a lot of fun to me. I understand why people are upset about Metroid, because this isn't as good as a real Metroid game. But if we're getting Zelda Wii U, Hyrule Warriors, AND this multiplayer game, I say there's no reason to complain as far as Zelda content is concerned.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015

I thought it was hilarious that everybody was mad at them for not showing Zelda. What did you people expect? They literally said they would not be showing it at E3 months ago.

But yeah, Reggie is full of poopsicles for saying they will only show off stuff coming out soon. At last year's, almost all of the titles were announced for "Q1 2015", and they were all delayed. Mario Maker, Wooly World, Xenoblade, and Zelda, were all delayed (can't remember if Splatoon was or not). So really, Star Fox is like the only one that wasn't delayed, and that's coming out a full year and a half after it was announced at last E3

@Yorumi Would it have bothered you less if they had purposely kept it off the disc?

Honestly, you seem to be so nitpicky about this whole thing. I personally like the wait for content to be gradually added. It gives me better pacing. If left to my own devices, I'll unlock everything immediately and then be out of stuff to do sooner. By them releasing content gradually, I have enjoyed Splatoon longer than I otherwise would have.

They aren't charging you anything for it. And that whole "I already paid for it" thing is garbage. Entertainment does not have an objective value. Besides, a lot of people measure the dollar value of their games by the amount of hours they have gotten out of it, and as I already mentioned, pacing out the content releases adds hours to the experience.
