It sold well because it was fun. But more importantly than that, it sold well because it was the only game besides Luigi's Mansion worth buying when the Gamecube launched. Depending on your region, there were only about 4 launch titles. Super Monkey Ball was one of them.
@SamusLv7 Oh yeah I don't comment often, but I'm on this site all the time. Pretty much every time I roll outside for a cigarette. NintendoLife us definitely my daily Nintendo news site of choice.
Not sure about now, but I bought the original Tiny Metal shortly after it came out, and the home menu said "Multiplayer coming soon" for months. I don't think it ever arrived. Game would have been a good AW replacement if it didn't feel so dang unfinished. It even improved on AW in some places, but in others it just felt rushed. Shame.
I was hoping to hear a bit about the 64DD expansion when I saw the box pictured. I'd REALLY like to hear about BS F-Zero Grand Prix 1 and 2, since information about that game basically doesn't exist on the internet. At least in English.
I actually really like the NES Metroid, though I first fell in love with Fusion and Prime when they came out simultaneously.
I saw a cool YouTube video the other day called "25 Times Metroid copied the Aliens Films" that was a fun walk down memory lane of all the games in the series

Re: Don’t Expect A Skies Of Arcadia Port Or Sequel Anytime Soon
My personal favorite RPG of all time — that game ruled on Gamecube. Not sure how it would hold up now though, almost 20 years later.

Steamworld Dig 3 I would have bought day one. Not so sure if I'll ever pick this up. Heist 2 would've been cool too.

No question about it — limited edition physical copy is a day one purchase for me.

Pokemon Snap absolutely rules. Would love a sequel.
