I currently own a Wii U for the exclusives, a Xbox One for the exclusives and certain third parties for multiplayer with friends, and a PC for the Valve games, other third parties I don't get at launch and indies. So long as Nintendo takes advantage of their first parties with great DLC's and innovates with new crossovers, has a simple online service, and makes the freaking console hardware better than PS4 and One then I have no problems. I don't know why people complain about EA, Activision, etc. because truth be told everyone has some favorite series or game(s) from them. You'll get the new console regardless if you claim to be this "fanboy" and "love Nintendo" no matter what. Also, if you're a true gamer, you'll upgrade regardless most people (especially ones that record and stream and want to be relevant) already own a beefy PC so owning most if not all console platforms isn't new it's just a part of the lifestyle.
@aaronsullivan yeah sorry about the language, but I'm just frustrated with dissing click bait videos and troll comments so I'm just putting some honesty out there. But yeah the gamepad was a good start but they need something a little more traditional. E3 wasn't bad IMO because we basically get presentations all year long. Do people not watch their Nintendo Directs. Plus it didn't help they had a separate presentation for Smash but I guess they needed some hype for the NWC I guess. Lastly, going digital/disc-less idk about it unless they implement a refund service like Steam. I can just hear the complaints now...
How to make a conventional Nintendo console that people will buy:
-Make a refined pro controller packaged along possible your innovative one
-Have specs that are superior than PS4 and Xbone (this will be technically a 9th-gen console)
-Market the heck outta it so you can win some consumers back and appeal to everyone (kids, teens, adults of casual, nostalgia, and hardcore)
-Bring back franchises people love (get your ass in gear and invest with some new studios and/or second party)
-Slowly get that third party support back so developers and publishers can trust you again
-Stop using a proprietary disc and use freaking Blu-Ray
-Create some sort of connectivity/backwards compatibility so 3DS and Wii U can have some sort of second life (hopefully DeNA come out with something fantastic)
And there's plenty others but I just want the non-arrogant Nintendo back who saved the Western gaming market in the 80's, so trust me blow us out the water Nintendo and you will have my/our money on Day 1!!!!
Let me make one point, I own a PC, Xbox One, and have owned Sony, Sega, and other Nintendo consoles and handheld from the past. I love all platforms and games there is no reason for arguing, trolling, picking sides, it just makes our industry look bad. Anyways, honestly Nintendo is giving up on the Wii U. The lack of marketing, third party support, and ignorance towards listening to the community caught up to the them. If it was not for the 3DS, who knows where Nintendo would be. Grant it, I have supported them on and off since I got my first GBC, but I think Nintendo needs to support and finish out the Wii U's life cycle properly. I currently own the Wii U and the New 3DS (so do not attack me trolls) but Nintendo needs to stop living in the past. The handheld titles are great but the only reason I have a Wii U is for Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. (thank god for DLC) or it would collect dust. If the NX does not live up the hype, proclaim an actual online/chat serivce worth using (I have friends that talk over PS4 just to cooperate for Splatoon and other co-op games) or have specs greater than the Xbox One or PS4 then Nintendo will be nothing but a walk down nostalgia road like my Genesis and Dreamcast games. I just want Nintendo to put their arrogance away and do how Sony rebounded from the PS3 to PS4 and how Microsoft is focusing on games and attempting to care and win back their Xbox fanbase. Just give the fans that something and the console they deserve and continue with the first and more second party titles, and win back those third parties!!!!
