@Johnion I don't like it's linearity, none of the "dungeons" so far have been memorable to me personally, even Ice Belt (which almost everyone is saying is peak) didn't impress me that much. Sol Valley is boring and Viola feels kinda clunky to use. I also don't like that Samus doesn't talk, I mean everyone was critical of her depiction in other m, but I'd rather prefer her having an actual personality. The psychic abilities could've been implemented better to be more meaningful or impactful. All in all I feel like it's just not on the same level as the others. I still like though and I'm enjoying it but at the same time I just want to finish it so I can focus on Kirby air riders again!
@Retrodouche Haven't thought about it yet, but you might be right. Otherwise...Nintendo seems to care about what the consumers/fans think and want, so maybe they will fix the "issues" with prime 5. Oh and I love tropical freeze so much, but I think from now on, Nintendo will handle all DK mainline games, which is a very good thing. I just hope they can make an excellent 2d sequel (and please bring back David Wise!!!).
@BaldB3lper78 I really hope it does well, I think the primary markets for this game will be Europe and North America, Metroid prime has never been that popular in Japan, they prefer the 2d entries. It will probably sell 20-30k first week in Japan, we'll see in the next days
I really love the Metroid series, but in all honesty, prime 4 is not on the same level as it's predecessors. I'm surprised it's getting voted that high here as its kinda insulting to the other much better entries in the prime series. I can't give it anything higher than a 7. At first I couldn't believe the critics, but having played it myself I can confirm it's underwhelming unfortunately. Something u can't say anything bad about is the presentation, graphics and performance are excellent and the soundtrack is amazing! I'm curious about the future of the 3d Metroid titles, I hope this one sells very well so they get the chance to make a much better prime 5.
Why does the author of this article think that dk Bananza sales aren't high, I'm confused...The sales are amazing and it will probably become the best selling dk game. I mean almost 4 million in 2,5 months, that's pretty good, I was expecting at least 2 million which would've also been good, but this is even better and such a strong start!
@Arawn93 No one expected this, but I think if mario Kart world hadn't been bundled with the switch 2, dk Bananza would have probably been at number 1 for this week in Japan. It's clear that dk will not beat mario kart world in lifetime sales, mario kart is literally Nintendos biggest franchise at this point (besides Pokémon, but I don't count that as 100% Nintendo).
@Axecon Don't think that this is possible right now, Kirby and the forgotten land sold 380k in its first days in Japan and it came out in 2022 where the original switch had a very very big install base, so it's kinda unfair to say that dk's 127k is bad or not good. The franchises you listed also are very very popular in japan thanks to continuous games output and better marketing of those franchises.
Very good sales for dk Bananza! It seems that digital sales are higher than physical sales in japan as the digital version was also number one on Amazon Japan, but we don't see digital numbers here unfortunately. I'm sure this game will have very high sales in the future as it will become an evergreen title. Also people have to keep in mind that the switch 2 came out one month ago, so it's clear u can't compare it to something like mario Odyssey first week sales wich came out 7 months after the original switch launch (at that time, the switch had sold 15 million units already!). So comparing it to the legend of Zelda breath of the wild first week in japan, which sold 189k, this seems very good, considering dk lost much of its popularity over the years in japan because of Nintendo's mishandling of the franchise, it was really really big in the 90s during the "rare era". Nonetheless I think worldwide sales of Bananza for first week might be between 600k - 800k!
