Re: Oh Dear, Contra: Operation Galuga's Physical Edition Is A Download Code In A Box

@belmont This is what people fail to realize, the physical format is obsolete and costs too much to produce, distribute, and market. Remember retailers pay every single day for unsold copies, thousands a year in inventory.

@Sisilly_G I can use my digital copy across multiple consoles too and, if I'm playing offline, it'll never get those updates. However, why wouldn't I want the new updates? Why would I want to play a broken physical copy offline when the superior digital copy is available? I wouldn't.

I used to be a staunch physical only owner until I did research and realized how much better digital is for everyone. It's okay if you prefer a physical copy, but to continue suggesting it's the best path is highly incorrect. I'm going to assume you still buy Blu-ray/DVD/VHS? CD/cassette? You don't use streaming services for any of your entertainment correct? If you do, you're a hypocrite and ignorantly choosing to die on a hill you've already abandoned elsewhere.

@Hints_Whispers I don't know anything about BG3, the basic premise doesn't interest me, but TotK shouldn't be anywhere near any accolades with how terrible it is. Like TW3, it's an incredibly poorly designed game from top to bottom that everyone is required to praise and any criticism for the blatantly obvious is torn apart by rabid fans who don't have the spine to stand up against the industry.

@SalvorHardin I seem to recall a time several years ago where he was supposed to be the "savior" of gaming journalism in the industry, and if I'm not mistaken, briefly was. The reason he's got the power he does now is because he went against the grain for the gamers. Unfortunately I really can't remember if that actually happened anymore because he's become exactly what nearly every other mainstream journalist (here included) has become: a shill to tow the line and not make waves.

Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game

"Xbox has done all sorts of collaborations in the past"... That's not a collaboration, that's what a 3rd party company does when they want to profit off something. If it was a collaboration then Nintendo would have given some sort of equivalent like Mario in a Microsoft-published game. It's crazy how people keep thinking MS/Nintendo were "working together" when the reality is Microsoft is just a 3rd party now and doing what any 3rd party company would do.

You'll see Rayman on Nintendo in a Mario outfit, but you'll never see Rayman on PlayStation in a Mario outfit. Ubisoft isn't collaborating, they're catering to that specific audience, that's all Microsoft did.

Re: Phil Spencer: There Are "No Plans" To Bring Xbox Game Pass To Nintendo Platforms

@timp29 Everyone who's been paying attention, considering how often Phil Spencer has stated he took Xbox 3rd party, he was keeping all future Bethesda games multiplat, and he wants the Sony/Nintendo communities to be "apart of Xbox". It's crazy how naive the majority of the industry (journalists) and fans are when it comes to Phil and his intentions. Xbox is nothing more than Ubisoft or EA these days, not a hardware contender, and they haven't been competition to Sony or Nintendo in at least a decade now.

Re: Phil Spencer: There Are "No Plans" To Bring Xbox Game Pass To Nintendo Platforms

Phil Spencer is lying again. He took Xbox 3rd party on stage at E3 in 2017 and he himself stated he wanted more screens, not hardware sales. He already had Xbox and PC, so there's no other thing he would have meant aside from Nintendo and PlayStation. He's already dropped games on Nintendo long before now, and we already know he's greedy and wants a monopoly over the industry. Trust and believe, we will see anti-consumer-pass on Sony and Nintendo hardware soon, a 3rd party won't intentionally keep the largest markets off their table if they can help it.
