Such a coincidence. A couple of minutes ago I ended watching the Eternal Diva cause of the hype for "Miracle Mask" and "Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies". And what can I say? It's a really good mix of eastern comics style from the mid 90's (vide: Tintins Adventure etc.) and original japanimation style with his own soul almost like productions of Ghibli studio.
There should be another answer with "all/most of the above". But I decided to vote for "Exciting Exclusives" (Pikmin 3 as a number 1 cause I waited too long for the third installment to be neglecting it), but honestly Wii U could be a great reincarnation of NES/SNES. Finally NIntendo remembered that third-party developers like Square-Enix, Capcom, Konami and many more are important (especially now when the West of third-parties devs are leading the way), that's a very good sign that we're not hearing something like it was with N64 or GameCube (license too expensive, too small space storage on carts or minidvds etc. etc.). And we can't forget that Nintendo isn't only about Mario, Zelda and Metroid (but of course we're all waiting for those blockbusters). "Ninjas from Kyoto" have many more IPs they can win over the next generation: Kirby, Star Fox, Kid Icarus, Mother/Earthbound (I know what you think), Fire Emblem, Advance Wars (on Wii U it could be freaking awesome) Fatal Frame/Project Zero, new Monolith Soft titles, Waio Land and that's not all. For me myself on Wii U and 3DS I only want more demos and game trailers to download and a simple connectivity with other gamers, that's all, for me consoles are about games and playing them with other "normal" gamers and not a fashion or some other crap (when I hear someone says that this game is "pretty sexy" I want to break his neck). Of course after a year or so we're gonna see if NIntendo can keep up the momentum. "My body is ready!" >: D
Did anyone see one not exactly Nintendoesque title? I mean on the list i see Wipeout 3 and Nintendo as a publisher but if I remember correctly Wipeout is a first-party title from one of Sonys developer;p
@Treverend And I'm gonna bet that in Europe Wii U will launch in 2013 (I have a feeling that the launch of Wii U will be just like as the normal DS). And why Nintendo is absent on this year Gamescom? Because in 2006 when they bring Wii to the Games Convention in Leipzig, it was a colossal disaster (Wii remotes didn't work as they should) and now they trying to avoid same failure (or just prevent it).
Oh yeah Nintendo did it again "what?! there's no launch space for our Mario because of other games? then screw them, Mario's most important!", first Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, now Luigis Mansion are coming out in 2013...."but don't worry we have another bunch of Mario games for you!" =_= (good there's still Castlevania and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward coming)
What a bull, first they didn't want to create Street Fighter IV because of the lacking support from fans, and If Mr. Ono didn't push their fat to create forth title, then SFIV wouldn't came out to market and would died just like Dino Crisis, Onimusha and Mega Man series. And now when they have obtained a big bag of cash thanks to 4 or 5 enhanced SFIV editions they want to expand fighting games? I think it will be the same like it's with MH series (the same is with Namco Bandai and Tales of series). Actions speaks louder than words Capcom!
Yeah they don't like (yet) Nintendo because they didn't bring Crytek a big bag of Money to port it like they did with EA. But then again EA is a publisher of Crytek series so it's not "if" but "when" they will release Crysis 3 on WiiU.
If I remember correctly on DS came out 3 or 4 CoDs. On Wii came all CoD titles from CoD3 to last MW3 (except MW2) so Pachter is wrong (again). And again he's evidently pointing out that he don't like Nintendo so it's obvious he's gonna say that Nintendo platforms sux all the time, he said that 3DS will die in a few months because he lacks power, second CP and doesn't stand a chance to Vita. But reality again showed us that real gamers doesn't care about graphics capability because "it's all about the games" and it's all about what developer gonna do with the platform. Pachter always forget about it, It's not that he's not a pro in what he's doing, but he really doesn't know the console industry (it's way different than PC industry and other industries). Wii U will launch in November (or somethin like that) this year so we're gonna see if Wii U will be a success or a failure, we'll see if third-parties will greatly support new home console from Nintendo or it will end as second Wii with only a few publishers supporting him.
I like the XL version mostly because I heard that the 3D Effect are better (but I think that's a myth), mate colors are more appealing to me (it reminds me the great DS Lite in Crimson/Cobalt-Black version that I have).and the battery holds slightly longer. But again I'm sceptical to those "BIG" screens (the upper screen is almost like in Vita) and those ugly nameless buttons that in normal 3DS are Select, Home, Start and Power. And there's the price issue without the charger, so I think that I will buy the normal 3DS because for me a handheld is supposed to be a cheaper alternative from Home Console, so for me the limit is 150-170 Euros for a portable device.
I love Wada-san's games and I'm happy that his Project Happiness is coming to 3DS (couldn't be better ). I hope that on TGS they will show some good gameplay and explain more ;]
Sometime later I will definitely buy Wii U for my beloved Pikmin 3, but on TGS I want to see bunch of great new exclusive titles that will secure the Wii U future. If not then I'm gonna wait about 3 years to see if it's worth. But for now i'm more interested in 3DS (because it's all about the games ;])
It would be great if Camelot will create new game from the Golden Sun series. In GBA era both Golden Sun titles was my favorite RPGs so I'd love to see the fourth game coming to 3DS (I don't want it on Wii U because for me JRPG are way better on portable systems)
I think that's very good idea because people who like to talk with others that like "that or that game" can easier join to play or just talk with each other about it. For me it's a great idea (in game messages are almost like in Dark Souls xd). Let's hope that Nintendo will bring it to other devices faster than eShop to 3DS (you know time is money and people like to lamment over almost everything that's not coming as fast as it can).
For me it's a terrible news, I really like two Metro novels from Dmitry Glukhovsky so I hoped that finally i could play it on Nintendo platform (and finally sell my X360) but if Nintendo will make the same mistake just like with Wii then I will never bet my money (again like with Wii at least for 4 years) on Wii U. But then again now THQ are in real pinch because in their last fiscal year they lost 190mln $ so it's not a surprise that they delete every version of games that wouldn't bring good profit.... Still it's a shame....
In my opinion Zelda had never been so much "for all people" game like the games with Mario (that are bundled with consoles just like Wii sports, Resort) so how can we talk about failure? Over 3.5 million units is a great success because it not only differs in controll but just like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker it uses cel-shaded graphics. Most of the Zelda fans preffers/ed the "Dark Fantasy" style Zeldas like in Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess (aside that the TP could be called an alernative OoT just like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories to the first original SH). And I don't think that Wii Motion Plus was the problem. The Problem is that like I mention at the beginning, the problem is only that Zelda series is for the Zelda fans (especially Skyward Sword with tons of stuff winking at you and hinting you that somethin similiar or the same was in the previous titles and that was very neat). I hope that the next Zelda on 3DS and Wii U will be again directed to Zelda fans. Oh and don't forget that Wii U will be backward compatibility and Skyward Sword in the long term sales can sell way better than Twilight Princess.
The English voices totally sucks just like in The Last Story, I waited for a long time for those two titles and because of those VA I don't want both TLS and PT. God how Nintendo can be so stupid (justt like the situation with the Fatal Frame series...)
It's great to hear that Mobiclip from now will (hopefully) work in a closer relation with Nintendo and their internal devs. I just resolved the mystery in Last Window: The Secret of Cape (one of the best DS titles ever made, at least for me) and Mobiclip have created those great unique cut-scenes in the game. So i'm happy that Nintendo bought them :]
I think a good example is New Super Smash Bros. that people can play it on 3DS and Wii U in Multiplayer...you know cross platform matchmaking. If that happens and more games will use it, then it would be great.
I hope Wii will be the first Nintendo home console that will reach 100 mln. It deserves it. This year will come out Mario Party 9, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower and Dragon Quest X (and maybe finally Rodea the Sky Soldier), so let's hope that this year Wii will sell at least in 6/7 milion units.
@11 Wii isn't only about Sports, Party and Music games. It had reactivated great genres like Platformers, like point & click adventure/mystery novel games and not only that. There are bunch of games like Muramasa, Lost in Shadow, Sky Crawlers, Trauma Center(series), couple of good Resident Evil titles and many many more other great games. If you say that Wii don't have good games then I don't know what titles are you playing on different platforms. Btw I'm really happy that Nintendo had great November sales, it proves that they never give up.
Nitendo should be thankful that they have such a great first party developer like Retro Studios. Those guys are truly amazing, they have so much new ideas to those old fashioned franchise. I really hope that MK7 will sell great and who knows maybe finally Nintendo would let Retro create their own new IP or somethin like that or maybe they will make a new Star Fox? more adventure type like "Star Fox Adventures" (that would be great too).
I hope Nintendo's not onkly talking about 3DSWare games but of course full retail games(imagine officially demo from Super Mario a month or so before the launch, that would be great!).
@Mickeymax you know 86+ Million Wii users is even more people than 50+ Million , and like someone said, they just could insert new stuff from Graces F on second disc, why? because Tales of Graces was made officially only for Wii then was imported on PS3 so the engine is from Wii version not PS3 so i think it would be possible to transfer this stuff on Wii. But this is business, Sony paid up like Microsoft paid that Vesperia on 360 version was the only one version on the west, so Sony paid up for Graces F to coming only to U.S. and maybe Europe, it's all about $$$$$
@MasterGraveheart all European and American gamers can erase Tales of Graces on Wii from wishlist: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/118/1180450p1.html that's pissing me off(especially because Tales of Graces was created for Wii not for PS3), and this is a simple excuse since the Wii version was very buggy(i read that Tales Studio didn't even care for a long time to make a patch that repairs these bugs), and with actual situation with Nintendo of America that don't want to publish Japanese RPGs so Namco Bandai isn't that kind of Publisher and developer to bring to west a big title only for Europe(count how many there are Tales of games in Europe and you'll understand what i mean).
Sorry guys that i'm writing it here, but at Japan Expo in France, Gamekyo has got the information(but it's not yet officially coming from NoE) that Pandora's Tower will be launch in Europe in 2012 like The Last Story, i think that's not only a rumour, because last time info about Last Story coming to Europe came from France too.
@tmann070707 dude never, officially western launch should've been in Fall 2010, but Nintendo and Namco Bandai abandoned the whole western Wii owners. But do not worry! Tales of Graces F on PS3 is coming to States and Europe, only what you need is to buy PS3 and Tales of Graces F! because the original version will share the same fate as many others Japanese "core" games on Wii...sad but true.
@Vinsanity i totally agree with you(even that i'm from Europe) where are those times, where Big N consoles where cheap for gamers(i mean why do i have to pay so much for only different controller? - Wii, Wii u) even when they have the power of past gens. When Satoru Iwata become Nintendo Global President it changes everything, i mean i like the DS, 3DS or even Wii, but i like even more old GBA, GameCube etc. because "it was all about games" not about stupid TV programs on my console, or dvd player inside it, because they were true home or portable consoles, that was the different, if i want have those crapy stuff have in my consoles i would buy Sony platforms or MS not Nintendo, and now? now "it's not about games" "it's about machine for everything" and that's not good, like everyone here says, if Nintendo want core gamers back then they should start from the Wii to bring several games that the western gamers are waiting for years(hello where's Tales of Graces?), but no, they're hipocrytes where's those catch phrase "actions speak louder than words" so mr. Iwata? where are those actions instead of words?
Wiiu version, but Twilight Princess showed that it's not so good idea(for me), and the original version was in generall better (for me). But it's obvious that Square will make the Wiiu version and abandon the Wii(even Miyamoto decided to make Pikmin 3 for Wiiu even if they worked on the Wii version for about 4 years or so), thanks to that it can obtain more interested gamers with the new Console, but of course there's a risk in that decision, Wii have around 90 mln users so there's greater chance for better sells than with the Wiiu, but maybe if they make a Dragon Quest a launch title for Wiiu it could become the main attractive on the new Hardware so...more core gamers, especially fans of DQ series will want to buy new hardware even if they have the old Wii
I hope they will not repeat the same stupid mistake like with the Wii, sorry but for me it was hillarious, the rumours about the CPU that has the Power of 2.5Ghz and the painful truth of only 726Mhz(like the old Xbox), i'm not a fanatic of super powerful devices with tons of cores inside but for god sake Nintendo it's 2011, if you make the same like with the 3DS that cost you only 101$ and you sell them for 250$ then sorry but i'm not buyed anymore(the power of 3DS is good, but for me it should be even better, because of the price i think that 3DS should have the price of 200$ from the beginning) i know i know Nintendo is not as Big as Sony or Microsoft, they can't afford to sell their hardware for free(yes i'm talking about VIta's price of the cheaper version), but c'mon where's the time of Game Cube and Game Boys? Game Cube was almost 2x powerful as PS2 and they sell it for 199 bucks at launch! and soon it costed only 99$ and Game Boys? Game Boy Color costed at launched only 70$, GBA price if i remember correctly was 99$ at launch too, so i'm asking Nintendo again where are they see those good prices for parents and most importantly gamers? they're gone....and with that interview i have bad feelings that Nintendo will repeat the same mistake as with the Wii(you know, big third party titles for "core" gamers only for about a year or two of the Wiiu lifespan and then again as with the Wii it will mostly Nintendo and it's first party devs bringing few good games in a year, the rest will be some party crap like always...)
I just buyed the 3DS with Zelda: OoT and now i'm waiting for package, but those waiting are killing me! I hope that the remake of Ocarina will be a great success, because if not i will lost my faith in the gaming industry and modern gamers :x
@hydeks yeah but if you look at it another way it's mostly 3rd partys fault because they have thinked it will be easy to make only scrolling shooters like: RE: Chronicles series, House ot the Dead, Dead Space etc. and thinked that it will "sell great numbers of copies because it has new motion controlls", only a little piece of devs. created a very unique titles that were good using the Motion Controlls(Another Code R, Zack & Wiki, Trauma Center/Team) and they too didn't sell so good(and here's Nintendo problem...)because Nintendo didn't support them with good financial and advertisement support, it was almost like "oh you wana create something unique on Wii? oh that's great!, but make it and sell it all alone we have better things to do(like making a big AAA products)". But even when Nntendo want to give them oportunity to shine even on launch their new handheld system they didn't take the chance and they take easier way to bring old games(Rayman 3D) or port them from production of old DS to new 3DS (Ghost Recon) i hope that soon we'll see some great games coming to east from west to 3DS(Time Travelers, Beyond the Labirynth, Professor Layton vs Pheonix Wright and many many more) and that Wiiu will not end like Wii, were the new ideas for using Wii remote and nunchuk was fast over after two or three years after the launch of the Wii on market.
For me Wiiu now only need optic port for optic cable, or Nintendo should give some Audio Adapter cable(like with the old version of X360) because i really want this time Dolby 5.1 not only Dolby Pro Logic II, it's 2011 Nintendo should understand that Dolby Pro Logic II isn't the best choice for a real HD console...
1. How much European country will pay for games? 2. Are there gonna be bundle packs like in Japan with Nintendogs + Cats or another games? 3. On the Launch time or soon after it, are there gonna be any Virtual Game Boys games? How much they are gonna cost, will be there greater support from Nintendo than for Wii with the Virtual Console?(I mean can we expect more good games in every week than on Wii VC). i think that's all :'>

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th July (Europe)
Sorry guys that i'm writing it here, but at Japan Expo in France, Gamekyo has got the information(but it's not yet officially coming from NoE) that Pandora's Tower will be launch in Europe in 2012 like The Last Story, i think that's not only a rumour, because last time info about Last Story coming to Europe came from France too.
Re: Tales of Graces
@tmann070707 dude never, officially western launch should've been in Fall 2010, but Nintendo and Namco Bandai abandoned the whole western Wii owners. But do not worry! Tales of Graces F on PS3 is coming to States and Europe, only what you need is to buy PS3 and Tales of Graces F! because the original version will share the same fate as many others Japanese "core" games on Wii...sad but true.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Bundle Pack is Beautiful
Haha i just pre ordered this beautiful bundle it costed me around 52 Euro but who cares xD
Re: Dragon Quest Collection Contains Clip from Dragon Quest X
Not only you guys, why do they always don't care about western fans of their series? =_= this would be great if it will come to Europe...
Re: Wii RPG Outrage Floods Official Nintendo Facebook
Re: Square Enix Pondering Dragon Quest X for Wii and Wii U
Re: Wii U Striking Balance Between Performance and Price
Re: Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Reaches Second Place in UK Charts
I just buyed the 3DS with Zelda: OoT and now i'm waiting for package, but those waiting are killing me! I hope that the remake of Ocarina will be a great success, because if not i will lost my faith in the gaming industry and modern gamers :x
Re: Nintendo to Update Wii U Prototype Hardware in Coming Weeks
Re: Take a Closer Look at the Wii U Console
For me Wiiu now only need optic port for optic cable, or Nintendo should give some Audio Adapter cable(like with the old version of X360) because i really want this time Dolby 5.1 not only Dolby Pro Logic II, it's 2011 Nintendo should understand that Dolby Pro Logic II isn't the best choice for a real HD console...
Re: Nintendo's 3DS Events - We Want Your Questions!
