I was at a Q&A session at an arcade convention a few months ago and Billy Mitchell was one of the Guests of Honor. When asked about Pixels, he said that they didn't offer him enough money, so he didn't bother taking the part.
Apparently the director (or whoever was in charge) decided to change the Billy Mitchell character into an awful parody to "stick it to him" in a way. Pretty fascinating stuff.
Serious question: In Mario 64, when throwing Bowser in the lava, Mario shouts an inaudible phrase. It SOUNDS like he says "So long, gay Bowser!". Over 15 years later, I still have no idea what he says. Please give me closure on this part of my life and tell me what is actually said. Thank you.
