@nintendoknife No, I am expressing my opinion. I just assumed, based on your statements that you supported it. If not, good on you, it means I misinterpreted you calling me an ignorant American as a defense of the actions instead of just a basic general insult. My bad.
@nintendoknife Hey, I thought all countries that were part of the Berne convention actually enforced it. I didn't realize that some countries actually didn't. You got me there. I guess that makes me an ignorant American, because I didn't realize that some countries legalized theft.
You must feel great knowing that your country is fine with stealing. You clearly are proud you get to live in a country where it is legal to directly harm people by taking their property and using it without compensating them. I feel really culturally ignorant not realizing you lived in such a country. I guess that is my "stoopid american" stereotype thinking most countries had laws protecting an individual's property. You have opened my eyes.
I am sure you know your countries laws better than I know them. Congratulations.
@nintendoknife Uhhh, no. There is the Berne Convention. It includes156 countries, almost certainly yours and definitely America. Sorry, you weren't aware of international agreements?
The device is legal. Downloading Amiibo data you did not pay for is theft via piracy. Simple, it shouldn't be a debate about how difficult it is to get Amiibo cards right now. It shouldn't be a debate about how hard it is to get specific villagers. Those are called rationalizations.
I'm not going to tell you what you should or should not do. But there is no question you are breaking the law when you download Amiibo data without having paid for it.
I'm enjoying the game immensely. Progression between rounds is not a noticeable issue for me due to the structure of the game. It has been a great deal of fun learning the errors of my ways. The different explorers really impact your approach to expeditions, and there is a lot of strategy in preparing for expeditions. Of course, it can all come crashing down in an instant with some poor luck. But that is all part of the experience. I've not completed a whole round of 6 expeditions yet, each of my explorers having died in a gruesome or tragic way. But I have made it further each round('ve only had time to play 3 different explorers. Thanks Animal Crossing). My fame score keeps rising, though. Can't wait to start another run.
I don't understand why Nintendo is restricting the game the way they are, even if it required a full install per user I think people would be ok with that. Why put those limitations in place? It does not seem to be impacting the sales or the reviews, but it is alienating some of your fanbase.
Animal Crossing is a shared experience for my family, something we have grown up playing and loving. Back in my Bachelor days, I played the Gamecube version. My wife and I played Wide World on our Gameboy Advances. Our older kids all played City Folk with us. As I recall, we all shared one village on that one. Our youngest daughter joined us in New Leaf. We ended up with four copies of that one, so that we could play together in various combinations.
Cue New Horizions. We bought 3 new systems just for Animal Crossing (2 birthday presents and one surprise for the wife) over the course of the year in anticipation of this game's release. Even if it had offered multiple Islands per system, we would have bought multiple systems, as that is how we like to play. We have 4 systems (2 regular, 2 lights) and 3 copies of the game(2 digital, 1 physical). We were very lucky to be in a place to be able to do that. There are a ton of people who can't, especially in current circumstances.
This game just keeps looking better and better. I am actually super excited about being able to tilt the camera. Took a long time for me to get over the perspective shift from Animal Crossing to Wide World. I've reserved a physical copy and bought a digital copy, the physical being for my Switch light, the digital being for the family's Switch. I may have bought the Switch light just so I could have my own Island and play local wireless coop with my wife/daughters. We are also probably getting another switch and copy of the game for my son as a Birthday present. Needless to say, we are big fans of the games, and love playing together.
@nintendoknife No, the 3DS games on emulators do not look close to the Sword and Shield gameplay we have seen to me. Sword and Shield look so much better. But that is just my opinion.
I wonder if they could have gone retro, done a sprite based game with maybe 3D enhanced lighting and effects, similar to Octopath Traveler(for the lighting and effects) and gotten all 1000+ Pokemon into the game? Would have been an interesting approach.
Just watched the E3 TreeHouse gameplay. The game looks like a true leap forward as far as the graphics go, compared to the 3DS games. I am baffled that so many people are complaining about the quality of the graphics. I was initially disappointed about the National Pokedex being cut, but I've accepted it. It's like a fresh start. Truly looking forward to the game.

Re: A Second Isabelle Smash Ultimate Glitch Has Been Found Which Can Create Infinite Waluigis
@Cobalt You get a bug that wasn't in the earlier game? No, typically new bugs indicate new code, whereas reoccurring bugs indicate re-used code.
