This a lot of salt for a Nintendo fan site
>.> Take Two is not the only developer that is speaking highly of the NX. CD Project Red, a. company that thought negatively of the Wii and the Wii U said that they liked what they saw with the NX.
As for Take Two they apparently want Nintendo to be successful. They want to produce for them, Nintendo just needs to deliver with a solid console, and if Nintendo can't then as a company they aren't obligated to support them.......As for any negative Sony guys, PS4 has its own problems to deal with come 2017 >.]>
@zool better. Games are originally made on high powered PCs and then down scaled to consoles which are weaker. If the Wii U has frame lags and pop ins then one would only assume that the original design was superior to what was shown on the Wii U.
To say that the NX is similar strength to the Wii U is to say that they saw that Zelda had problems running on weaker hardware and then proceeded to put it on another console just as bad. Any sane person would use a higher spec console if they wanted the game to be a system seller.
By all means I expect for the NX to run Zelda well ergo the console must be much more powerful than the Wii U
@zool not really? Who wouldn't want to have their system launch with a big title, I don't get how you came to the graphics conclusion. Though see how gaming companies that have dev kits and had pretty much abandoned the Wii U have stated their excitement for the NX, I don't see the NX having similar graphics
" Still, I am not sure if the form factor (the size and configuration of the hardware) will be integrated. In contrast, the number of form factors might increase. Currently, we can only provide two form factors because if we had three or four different architectures, we would face serious shortages of software on every platform. To cite a specific case, Apple is able to release smart devices with various form factors one after another because there is one way of programming adopted by all platforms. Apple has a common platform called iOS. Another example is Android. Though there are various models, Android does not face software shortages because there is one common way of programming on the Android platform that works with various models. The point is, Nintendo platforms should be like those two examples"
^this was from Iwata before his passing and falls in line with the recent restructuring of Nintendo's game development team where both the teams working on the 3ds and the Wii U were combined
@mariovslink62 kinda except the company that makes those cards has created a new card that holds much more.
Don't be so negative and just wait and see. If these cards can hold more, eliminate load times and installs, reduce hard drive usage, and developers are cool with it, I can't really see a problem
@mariovslink62 you seem to be a bit behind. This is flash memory that we are talking about. The price of flash memory has only gone down in recent years and it's still getting cheaper
@mariovslink62 not exactly to be different, they probably don't want to ask Sony for the right to use Blu rays. That and load times and having to install your games b4 u play them is a real problem. Having games on cartridges saves you hard drive space
@MadAussieBloke actually what people are calling a hybrid is pretty much Nintendo doing what Apple does. Nintendo alluded to it when they first spoke about the NX. They simply want the NX to be a common OS shared over all of their hardware.
The only difference is that according to WSJ the portable will be made so that it can work together with the home console

Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@OneBagTravel if you are talking about the new cartridge size, then it's supposedly 32 nanometers not 32gb

Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@rjejr I agree with this since it fits with what Nintendo themselves have stated about the console

Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@TheBigK no worries mate developers seem to have no problem developing for the Vita and 3ds. The NX will essentially use the same technology.
Besides developers have been confirmed to be excited about the new console
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@RedeadLink no clue the company that's producing the game cards is supposedly using 32nm chips. No idea how much that holds
