@pntjr Ok sell your Wii U and buy a PS4 because NBA 2K14 is so awesome (sarcasm). It's stupid of you to regret buying a Wii U just because some basketball game isn't coming to Wii U. Newsflash dude: 2K Sports have never fully supported Nintendo consoles and Nintendo is still successful without them.
@Rafie Listen dude we are cool. I have no problem with you personally, I just don't like how you want Nintendo to have a better relationship with 3rd parties BUT you won't buy a lot of 3rd party games on Wii U. You are part of the problem in my opinion but i don't want to continue arguing about this. Just buy Watch Dogs on PS4 if you want.
And I don't care if I sound like a fanboy, I know I'm not a fanboy. A fanboy is basically someone who's loyal to one video game company and I'm not loyal to Nintendo and I don't like all their products. I never bought the Wii because I don't like Motion Control. And no I never said Wii U is superior, I explained why Wii U is a next-gen console. A lot of people say it's not next-gen but it's more innovative than PS4. The Share button on DualShock 4 is pretty cool but I have a feeling that I wouldn't be able to upload my gameplay videos on my own YouTube channel. It will probably be a YouTube channel created by Sony.
@Peach64 Watch Dogs won't feel like a proper next-gen game? What's a next gen game? If you're talking about graphics then yes it's not a next-gen game because it won't take full advantage of the PS4, Xbox One and even the Wii U hardware.
If you're talking about overall experience then i disagree because your PS4 experience will be almost the same as your current PS3 or 360 experience. The PS4 controller is basically a Dualshock 3 with a touchpad on it and Xbox One has the same controller as the 360. Wii U on the other hand gives you that next-gen experience thanks to the touchscreen on the Gamepad.
It's still not known if I will buy this game at launch. I don't care much about DLC but others do and i dont like it when Nintendo fans don't get the same treatment from developers. If you're gonna port a game to Wii U then do it right, don't give us an incomplete game.
@Rafie I wasn't attacking you, that's just how I talk. I speak my mind and I am honest. I'm not afraid to let people know what i think. And you often say that i talk like a fanboy, well if that's what you wanna believe then fine but I'm not a fanboy because I'm not loyal to Nintendo and I don't agree with everything they do. I owned a PS3 and 360 this gen and I never cared about achievements and trophies, I don't care about winning fake awards, I just wanna have fun but everyone is different I get it so if you like achievements/trophies then good for you.
And no I wasn't "boasting" about Watch Dogs Wii U version having the best gameplay, I just said that I think Wii U's version will be the best because I believe that Ubisoft will do some cool things with the Gamepad. I still don't understand why you would rather buy Watch Dogs for PS4 but maybe you want those nice graphics. And yes I know that a lot of people buy Nintendo consoles just for 1st party games and they are one of the reasons why the Wii U lacks 3rd party support. You think it's because Wii U has a small install base but really that's not the only reason because GameCube lacked 3rd party support and Wii lacked support as well so no Wii U's install base is not the only reason. Everybody is to blame for the lack of support: Nintendo, the Nintendo fans and 3rd party devs are to blame. Nintendo fans for not buying 3rd party games for Nintendo consoles, Nintendo for not having a good relationship with 3rd party devs and 3rd party devs themselves for being too lazy and not supporting Nintendo's innovations and great ideas.
@Rafie So instead of buying some 3rd party games on Wii U, you will just buy the exclusives like the typical Nintendo console owner. This is one of the main reasons why Nintendo consoles lack 3rd party support because Nintendo fans only care about the exclusives. Instead of buying Watch Dogs on Wii U and use the Gamepad as your hacking device, you will buy Watch Dogs on another console that has a traditional controller. I strongly believe that Wii U will have the superior Watch Dogs version gameplay wise but seems like you rather buy the version that has better graphics.
I'm not attacking you but i don't like how Nintendo fans refuse to buy 3rd party games on Nintendo consoles, especially those from Ubisoft. Don't complain later on when 3rd parties refuse to support the Wii U because you and others didnt buy their games for Wii U, you bought them for other systems instead...
@Rafie Thank you for your feedback. I need to say one more thing: I wasn't really downplaying the other consoles, it's just kinda how I feel about them. Those consoles are not as impressive as people make them out to be. I will give PS4 credit for the specs and share button, that's it and i'll give Xbox One credit for the specs and the fact that Xbox has blu-ray now. Nothing else about those systems is impressive to me.
And yes I need to defend Wii U sometimes from haters and ignorant people who lie about Wii U or they only tell one side of the story. People who don't know better will believe those lies and will continue to spread it all over the internet. People deserve to learn the truth about Wii U and that's why I'm willing to defend it sometimes. And trust me, Wii U will have games with better graphics than current gen consoles in the near future, it's just a matter of time
@Rafie Dude you missed the point I made in that article, you missed it completely. I wasn't being biased, I just used people's stupid logic to prove a point. I believe that all 3 consoles are next-gen, but if you really believe that Wii U is not next-gen, then I can come up with arguments as to why the other consoles are not next-gen either. That's why I spend so much time glorifying the Wii U because I'm defending the Wii U from haters and people that are ignorant. I'm trying to prove that Wii U IS next-gen, so there's no reason for me to say anything negative about the Wii U. Get it?
Wii U is a little bit more powerful than PS3 and 360 so the graphics on Wii U can be slightly better if developers make the effort to make Wii U games look better. You cannot judge the Wii U from lazy ports at launch. Wait until future Wii U games are released and you'll see that Wii U can produce better graphics.
The reason why most players didn't make use of Xbox 360's backwards compatibility is because the Original Xbox wasn't very popular. Only 24 million people bought the Original Xbox. Now compare 24 million with 77 million 360 owners, that's why backwards compatibility wasn't used much on 360.
Anyway, guys I wrote a blog on IGN. It would be nice if you can read it and leave your comments below.
The title of my blog is: 'If Wii U is not next-gen,then PS4 and Xbox One aren't next-gen either'
@SkywardLink98 I don't expect a lazy port to sell well on Wii U. Black Ops 2 on WiiU was a lazy port which is why I think it sold horribly. If 3rd party developers make great games for Wii U, than those games will sell well. Nintendo fans are not stupid, we buy games that are worth playing. If COD Ghosts turns out to be a good Wii U port than people will buy it. It's that simple really.
@SkywardLink98 Call of Duty is NOT guaranteed to make money on Xbox One, especially not after the terrible Xbox One reveal yesterday. Putting the game on Xbox One is a bigger risk since Xbox fans are disappointed with the new Xbox. If you're gonna put it on Xbox One, then put it on Wii U as well.
@SkywardLink98 I like your honesty but at the same time i dont. Dont say things like "this game should skip Wii U" no...just no. Every game should be on Wii U. If it's on Xbox One then it should be on Wii U too. Xbox One is becoming a casual console with all the focus on multimedia that it has
@ferthepoet Too much Wii U? Are you kidding me? That's what Wii U needs to start selling again. Nintendo shouldn't be talking about 3DS at all so be happy they still talked about it
@ngamer155 You need to stop having high expectations for a Non-E3 Nintendo Direct. It's silly to expect them to make big announcements at a Nintendo Direct in May. They are saving the good stuff for E3
I'm tired of 3rd party devs not announcing games that they are making for Wii U. If you announce a PS3 and 360 version then why not announce the Wii U version too? Why do you have to keep us waiting for confirmation?
At least it's not cancelled and i hope this stays a console exclusive or else the Wii U version will be delayed even more. I also want this game to be available on retail, I don't like downloading games, I want the disc of Ghost Recon Online.
@Jaz007 Ok whatever but EA is making games for PS4, a console that isn't released yet because they ASSUME that a lot of people will buy it. So they are willing to take risks with PS4 but not the Wii U who already has 3+ million owners. I strongly believe EA has something against Nintendo, it's not just because Wii U is not selling.
@Rafie The funny thing about what you said is that the so called "hardcore" gamers who dismissed the Wii U aren't hardcore or at least not more hardcore than Nintendo fans. They are nothing more then bandwagon fans who choose to play games on the most popular consoles, that's all. Also their taste in games confirms that they are not hardcore. They only play realistic looking games with guns, violence and blood and their games must look great. I cannot take these type of gamers seriously and this is why I will not buy a PS4 or next Xbox. I rather play on the least popular console with true gamers who appreciate Nintendo's great games and innovations.
@Peach64 What about the PS4? I heard that the PS4 has a "weak" CPU too. I don't know if it's true but we can find out. Let's assume that the PS4's CPU is weak too, how will you explain EA supporting the PS4 despite the weak CPU and smaller install base than the Wii U? Because believe me, EA will bring games to PS4 and how many people own a PS4? The answer is 0. At least Wii U has 3+ million owners already and the numbers will get bigger by the time PS4 is released. So how would you explain this?
@Dpishere Reviews are nothing more than someone's opinion on the game. You need to play demos instead to make your own opinion on the game. If for some odd reason, there's no demo than go ahead and read reviews.
The only thing I like about reviews is that the reviewer will inform you if there's something wrong with the game. For example long loading etc.
@Grubdog That's your opinion. I don't care if some developers don't take full advantage of the Gamepad's touchscreen. I just want the games to be on Wii U and I want to be able to play them with my Wii U Pro Controller as well.
@Grubdog You're judging all Wii U games now because of one game that didn't use the Gamepad properly in your opinion? That's silly. Keep playing ZombiU and wait for the next good game to come out, Deus Ex Director's Cut on May 21 for Wii U.
Developers these days are known to say things that Nintendo fans won't like and then few days later they say something more positive because they don't want Nintendo fans to boycott their games
@banacheck PS4 is not backwards compatible, which means that most gamers with limited budget cannot replace the PS3 with a PS4, so they will choose to keep their PS3 until PS4's price drops. And why wouldn't they make this decision? PS3 will still get a lot of the games PS4 is getting and more. Upgrading to PS4 doesn't make much sense unless you're a die-hard Sony fan.
150 Devs developing for PS4 but how many of those games will be available at launch and 6 months after launch? Not too many since it takes more time to develop for PS4 and the development cost is higher.
PS4's launch price might be cheaper than PS3's launch price but still not affordable for most people I believe. Sony could lose millions and millions if they sell the PS4 at $400. Each console would be sold at a loss and that's not healthy for them.
You also need to remember that the Xbox Infinity aka Xbox 720 will most likely be cheaper than PS4 or have the same price so I could see millions choose the new Xbox over the PS4.
Lower your expectations a little bit or you will be disappointed.
I still believe Nintendo made a mistake by making Luigi's Mansion 2 a 3DS exclusive. They should have ported the game to Wii U. They can still port it but it won't sell nearly as much as it should because most people played the game on 3DS already.
I have a feeling that PS4 will be the next PS Vita, a powerful system that will not sell even after all the hype and high expectations from gamers. Only the most hardcore Sony fan will buy a PS4 at launch.
@ferthepoet Everyone knows that Sony will overprice the PS4. The last Sony system that was affordable was the PS2. Everything else by Sony is expensive. The only reason why PS4 is in a better position now is because of Wii U's lack of 1st party games but Nintendo can change that after E3 if they want.
@evanescent_hero I agree 100% but they will not get money from me even though I want this game on my Wii U. I don't know if I should trust these developers with my money. What if the game is crap? Or what if the game gets canceled? I'm not a fan of crowdfunding and I'm not a fan of digital-only games either. I prefer to pay for the final product and I want a physical copy of the game, I don't want to download it. I just don't like downloading games for a few reasons.
There's a reason why rumors are started. This particular rumor didn't start just to lie to us Wii U owners. There is some truth in this rumor or maybe it's 100% true. Shigeru Miyamoto or was it Satoru Iwata did say that they are focused on improving Wii U's performance right now so it wouldn't surprise me if it's true. Let's just wait and see.
Yeah, put the blame on Wii U even though it's your fault and your fault alone Activision. When was the last time they made a game worth playing and worth talking about?? Don't worry I'll wait...
Activision reminds me of EA sometimes and that's NOT a good thing. Become less like EA and more like Ubisoft and you'll see profits.
I still dont agree with Pachter a 100%. He thinks Nintendo made the right decision but for the wrong reasons. Pachter doesnt watch Nintendo Directs so he doesnt know what he's talking about.
"The Wii was barely more powerful than the Xbox and PS2"
Barely or not it's STILL more powerful than Xbox and PS2 and the PS2 was the weakest console of the 6th generation so the Wii wasn't barely more powerful than PS2.
Wii U doesn't have 5 Full-HD games yet but those games will come no doubt. Right now Monster Hunter 3 is in Full-HD and future games like Wonderful 101 will be in Full HD aka 1080p
I don't think ports will be tricky...porting a PS4 game to Wii U is possible and shouldn't be hard. That's my opinion and it won't change until i'm proven wrong
@Peach64 No one is saying that Wii U matches the PS4 and next-Xbox. Everyone with a tiny bit of knowledge and common sense knows that those 2 systems are more powerful than the Wii U but I don't think the gap is as big as everyone thinks. There are still ignorant gamers who think Wii U is on par with PS3/360. Why would Nintendo waste money on a console that is not more powerful than a PS3? That doesn't make any sense to me and i know that Nintendo is not stupid like that. Wii U is obviously more powerful than current-gen systems.
The main difference between PS4 and Wii U games will be that PS4 games will have more details, making games on PS4 more realistic but that doesn't mean that Wii U games will look cartoon-ish compared to PS4 games, it also doesn't mean that Wii U games will look blurry compared to PS4 games. PS4 games will look amazing but the Wii U version can still look great if Devs aren't lazy.
There's not a huge gap between PS4 and Wii U. Both systems can run games in Full-HD (1080p). Any PS4 game can be ported to Wii U. If PC games can be ported to PS3 than Wii U can get PS4 games because the PS4 is still a lot weaker than a high-end PC
@Nintenjoe64 I'm pretty sure the engine works on Wii U, this is just EA talking crap and not telling people the real reason why their games won't come to Wii U.
@Peach64 Everyone thinks Wii U is weak. I don't believe it for one second for obvious reasons. Any PS4 or next-Xbox game can be ported to Wii U. If Wii U doesn't get a game is because publishers don't want to. EA doesnt want their games on Wii U.
@Peach64 Cool story Peach but here's the thing: someone has to release games on the Wii U whether it's selling like crap or not because if they don't, then people won't buy the Wii U at all. Gamers won't buy a system without games so one of them have to take risks with the Wii U.
EA is not releasing their games on Wii U because they don't want to take risks and because they are butthurt that Nintendo said no to Origins.
Ubisoft on the other hand is still developing games for the Wii U NO MATTER WHAT because they are committed and have a strong partnership with Nintendo.
EA is not even going to release Madden NFL 25 for the 3DS and the 3DS is selling like hot cakes so what's the excuse here?

Re: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and LEGO City 3DS Stand Their Ground in UK Top 10
I still believe Nintendo made a mistake by making Luigi's Mansion 2 a 3DS exclusive. They should have ported the game to Wii U. They can still port it but it won't sell nearly as much as it should because most people played the game on 3DS already.
Re: PS4 And Next Xbox Could Share Wii U's Teething Troubles, Says Activision's Kotick
I have a feeling that PS4 will be the next PS Vita, a powerful system that will not sell even after all the hype and high expectations from gamers. Only the most hardcore Sony fan will buy a PS4 at launch.
Re: PS4 And Next Xbox Could Share Wii U's Teething Troubles, Says Activision's Kotick
Re: Eternal Darkness Will "Definitely" Be Discussed For The Wii U, Say Precursor Games
Re: Rumour: The Recent Wii U System Update Has Boosted Clock Speeds
There's a reason why rumors are started. This particular rumor didn't start just to lie to us Wii U owners. There is some truth in this rumor or maybe it's 100% true. Shigeru Miyamoto or was it Satoru Iwata did say that they are focused on improving Wii U's performance right now so it wouldn't surprise me if it's true. Let's just wait and see.
Re: Rumour: The Recent Wii U System Update Has Boosted Clock Speeds
@ajcismo Even Lego City is running a tiny bit better after the update.
Re: Activison Anticipating Rough End To 2013, Wii U Partly Responsible
Yeah, put the blame on Wii U even though it's your fault and your fault alone Activision. When was the last time they made a game worth playing and worth talking about?? Don't worry I'll wait...
Activision reminds me of EA sometimes and that's NOT a good thing. Become less like EA and more like Ubisoft and you'll see profits.
Re: Pachter: Nintendo Made The Right Decision In Skipping E3 This Year
I still dont agree with Pachter a 100%. He thinks Nintendo made the right decision but for the wrong reasons. Pachter doesnt watch Nintendo Directs so he doesnt know what he's talking about.
Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results
@citizenerased
Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results
Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results
@Nintenjoe64 I'm pretty sure the engine works on Wii U, this is just EA talking crap and not telling people the real reason why their games won't come to Wii U.
Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results
@Peach64 Everyone thinks Wii U is weak. I don't believe it for one second for obvious reasons. Any PS4 or next-Xbox game can be ported to Wii U. If Wii U doesn't get a game is because publishers don't want to. EA doesnt want their games on Wii U.
Re: Madden NFL Is Skipping Nintendo Systems For The First Time Since 1991
@Peach64 Cool story Peach but here's the thing: someone has to release games on the Wii U whether it's selling like crap or not because if they don't, then people won't buy the Wii U at all.
Re: Developers: No Nostalgia Allowed in Creating Core of Dark Moon
I still don't understand why this game is exclusive to 3DS. Nintendo needed to port this game to Wii U or better yet, make it a Wii U exclusive.
