Accessory maker WaterField Designs has a solid reputation for high-quality carry cases, and the company has just announced that it's producing a case for the Analogue Pocket.
The Analogue Pocket Pouch has been designed with input from over 1,000 customers and is fashioned from water-resistant material. It comes in "black ballistic nylon or vibrant blue, green, or red Forza high-performance textile," and boasts an internal lining that's "as soft as a puppy’s ear." Woof!
Optional extras include a Carabiner ($3), 3/8-inch leather wrist loop ($15) and an adjustable sling strap with matching cam-lock buckle ($19).
Here's the full rundown of the specs:
- Water-resistant shell in black ballistic nylon or vibrant blue, green, or red Forza high-performance textile projects a professional aesthetic.
- Ultra-plush lining — as soft as a puppy’s ear — cradles and protects the gorilla glass display and body of the handheld.
- Case-length, magnetic closure quietly secures main compartment and allows for in-case charging or for connecting to a Mac, PC, or other hardware.
- Golden-lined exterior pocket for games and a USB-C charger closes with a custom zipper pull and a YKK waterproof zipper.
- Optional add-ons include a carabiner, a wrist strap, and/or a sling strap with an easily adjustable matching cam-lock.
- Designed and handcrafted in WaterField’s San Francisco sewing studio to incorporate customer input gathered from emails, social media, and a company-generated survey.
Analogue produces its own hard-shell case for the Pocket, but it's more suited to showing the console off on a shelf than carrying around in public, so this WaterField case could be an essential purchase.

1,000 people who somehow couldn’t be bothered to find existing bags that would work just fine with this device because they aren’t branded for the FOMO Pocket.
@SalvorHardin The Switch will fit in a bunch of other cases that aren't designed for it - that doesn't mean that a market for Switch cases shouldn't exist. This isn't any different?
I'll admit this looks well suited to other devices, such as my RG351V or RG351MP, or a modded GBA I recently got.
My main concern however is how well does it protect the screen from impacts? That's something a hard carry case will afford, but a pouch may not.
I’m a sucker for this kind of thing….still on the fence about the picket, tempted…
@RupeeClock Apparently the screen has been said to be a nightmare to replace, protection is a must with this device.
Man, I would order one but my analogue isn't coming in till Q4 sadly.
Most hard-drive cases will fit the pocket well. What we really need are good third-party screen protectors. From Analogue it's $16 dollars for one and they appear to not be shipping anything until 2023.
I bought a replacement screen protector from Brotect - it was a good fit but it wasn't clear class so it really smeared the image - looked like a coat of vaseline.
@Zeropulse even worse for me. Expected in 2023.
I totally mis-read the headline and thought it was a $49 analogue alternative. Must put my specs 🤓 on !
@SalvorHardin who hurt you?
I'm using a case made for a portable HD and it works great
@SalvorHardin I'm using a 3DS case created by this same company for my pocket - it's a perfect fit. Otherwise, the Pocket is everything it was promised, the ultimate portable retro system and puts literally everything on the market to shame.
Man I really want a pocket lol. Maybe I’ll just commit to waiting a year, dunno
@Chunkboi79 I have no idea how someone would replace these screens. They're a higher DPI than any smartphone ever made and a shape that nobody uses.
@Zeropulse Same for me, and I hope they stick to that. It's going to be a long wait...
I'll need a puppy and a case to verify
@BenChurchill @zeropulse same here, just keep adding the cartridges in waiting. Might pick one of these up as I love their bags.on the plus side, already one month down, 11 to go.
@Chris77 I ordered one, just in case. I have a pretty large collection of carts already from when I was a kid, so now I just need to fill in any gaps while I wait.
@BenChurchill I was looking at them and saw batches were sold out, with the current batch shipping in March. I thought it was going to be like ordering the pocket all over again.
They sent me an email saying a bigger pocket case is coming next week so I might take a look at that before ordering.
@SalvorHardin I finally got my pocket over a month later because it was lost in shipping and man, the cult surrounding this device is so weird to me. It's a cool device and I'm glad I have it, but people are really acting like it didn't come out half-baked with pretty basic features missing.
I'm using my waterfield 3DS XL case for my pocket and it works awesomely. Plus I feel it has a little more protection than this new one
