Earlier this year we brought you the news that film-maker Kennedy Baruch was following up his award winning Escape movie with a feature-length film called Princess in Another Castle; we then spoke to him in detail about the project. He explained the core idea behind the film:
Everyone in the crew and cast got what I was trying to say right from the get-go, and everyone really believed in it, and wanted to do all of what was in that script. I'm also very much of the personal belief that if you want to do something, with all your heart, you need to take it as far as you possibly can, even if that means you have to rip out an absolutely haunting piece of your childhood and put it on display for the entire world to see.
With production on the film continuing, Baruch has now launched an Indiegogo campaign to help fund the rest of the film and to enable it to be presented at various festivals. With an initial $10,000 — with stretch goals to speed up or improve the film — target and 43 days to go it's reached a little over $1300 at the time of writing, so it's off to a strong start. As detailed before it'll have real-life sequences at its core, and then animated sections that represent the lead character's game-related fantasy; Mother and Mother 2 / EarthBound are the games central to the story.
Further details and a first trailer are in the video below, giving a first look at the film in progress; the campaign page naturally lists the team members and more about the project; as big fans of the original Escape short film, we'll be interested to see how this progresses in the coming months. Check it out and let us know what you think.

I can't say that video really interested me... I don't really understand what this movie is going to be about. I mean, I get it, but it also looks pretty boring with very little plot. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't get it.
I also dunno why they used Lonely Rolling Star from Katamari Damacy, of all things...
The movie is ambitious, I give it that. But the whole story is rather generic family drama, only with more respect towards gaming (instead of branding it an antisocial timewaster, like media tends to do). The story seems rather predictable, so unless critics say it has some interesting twist, I probably won't bring myself to watch it.
I thought this wasn't coming to WiiU? Has that now changed? ...ooooor am I thinking of a different game?
nice. any movie that involves mother games im in.

@LavaTwilight This isn't a game at all...
OK thanks... I'm getting confused with the game called 'Another Castle' or something whereby the levels are random...
