Neverway (Switch eShop)

One of Outersloth's funded projects, Neverway is a gorgeous-looking horror take on the farming and life sim genre. And it's decidedly moody and creepy.

As Fiona, you become the immortal herald of a dead god after you move for a seemingly idyllic farm life. What's more, your world is slowly being consumed by an alternate reality that you have to fight back against. Add in some action RPG and dateable humans and, well, you have a Lovecraftian-style adventure. This one's coming to Switch in 2026.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (Switch)

Level-5 cemented its grand return in the February 2023 Nintendo Direct with multiple new titles, including a brand new Professor Layton game. Hershel Layton and his assistant Luke Triton are back and their adventures take them to the United States, where Luke now lives. Now it's Layton who's a fish out of water.

While teased during that 2023 Direct, a later Level-5 Showcase revealed we'd need to wait until 2025 to reunite with our favourite detective duo. As of TGS 2025, however, it's been delayed to 2026. Booo.

Ratatan (Switch eShop)

If you ever owned a PSP, then you've probably played the delightful rhythm game Patapon. Developed by the wonderful Japan Studio (RIP), it saw you command an adorable troupe of eyes to the beat of the music. Two sequels were made, and we've since seen a remaster of the first two, but nothing brand new.

Ratatan, from many of the people who created Patapon, looks to fill that void; it's out in early access, so we imagine the Switch release will follow sometime after.

Rhythm Heaven Groove (Switch)

A new Rhythm Heaven game, finally! rejoiced millions upon seeing Rhythm Heaven Groove revealed during the March 2025 Direct. 2026!?!?!?! they collectively gasped as their joy collided with the realities of game development and scheduling.

Yes, we would have loved this one to be a shadow-drop, but the fact it's coming is reason enough for great joy and gratitude.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors (Switch eShop)

Vampire Survivors is branching out, and it's going dungeon crawling. Yes, you're reading that right. Vampire Crawlers looks like the most chaotic turn-based, deck-building game we've ever seen. It's got a huge dollop of the usual number and pixel madness on top of an old-school first-person perspective,.

You can play as fast or slow as you want, going full methodical or by throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the wall. Can you wait until 2026 to get your hands on this? We certainly can't wait to take a bite.

Yes, we know there's way more than 35 there, but we're jazzed for each and every one and, with a couple of '2026's and one big question mark — we may all evolve into beings of pure energy before Silksong releases — we wanted to give you your money's worth.

Rumours persist concerning Nintendo's next console, the fabled 'Switch 2', but right now Switch is Nintendo's only hardware platform. With over 150 million Switch systems sold since March 2017, publishers will be releasing new Switch games for some time to come.

Is Mario Odyssey 2 confirmed?

Not yet. In fact, we don't even know about Mario's next big 3D platformer!

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 recently got rereleased on Switch, but besides that, there have been rumours that the dev team were working on a new game — that turned out to be Donkey Kong Bananza for Switch 2.

So, at the moment, there has been no official confirmation that Super Mario Odyssey 2 exists or is in development.

What is the newest Mario Party game?

We're so glad you asked! Super Mario Party Jamboree is the third Mario Party game on Switch. This is a full-fledged new game with new boards, minigames, and online modes.

However, there's a Switch 2 exclusive update coming to the game with Jamboree TV. That's out in July 2025, so if you've upgraded to the new console, there's still life in Jamboree yet.

Is Mario Kart World coming to Switch?

Nope, Mario Kart Will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

However, it was originally planned to be a Switch 1 game, but the team ran into many roadblocks and Nintendo said it was "it was difficult for us to incorporate everything we wanted" on the older console.

As a result, the Booster Course Pass was used to till in the gap!
