The Duskbloods (Switch 2)

Launch date
Closed Network Test in Summer 2026, otherwise TBC 2026
Platform
Switch 2
Physical?
TBC

FromSoftware is probably one of the hottest gaming tickets out there right now, so when the Souls studio revealed that its next game would be a Switch 2 exclusive, our collective jaw dropped.

The Duskbloods is a multiplayer action RPG where you play as one of 12 Bloodsworn, vampire-like creatures with unique abilities. In either PvP or PvE battles, you'll be able to take on challenging friends or foes in combat. With a Closed Network Test in the summer, we'll hopefully know what form this will take before too long.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse (Switch)

Launch date
TBC 2026 (15th October, 2026 on other platforms)
Platform
Switch 1
Physical?
Yes

The year is 2026. Konami isn't dead, and not only that, it's making a new Castlevania game. Pinch us.

Teaming up with Dead Cells maestros Evil Empire and Motion Twin, we're going back to the series' 2D action-adventure structure for the first time in over a decade. If the Return to Castlevania DLC for the roguelite is anything to go by, then this should be excellent.

Danganronpa 2x2 (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 1 & 2
Physical?
TBC

Yes, we're getting a Danganronpa 2 remake before Danganronpa 1. Confused? If you're a fan of the series, you probably shouldn't be: everyone knows that Kazutaka Kodaka's series loves to defy conventions. So this is almost definitely more than a remake.

In fact, Kodaka himself has said that Danganronpa 2x2 is a "retelling", with brand new story content added included alongside the original. What that means for the series going forward, we'll have to wait and see.

Enter the Gungeon 2 (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 2
Physical?
TBC

It was only a matter of time before Enter the Gungeon 2 was announced for a Nintendo console, and luckily, it's for the brand new one. More bullet hell dungeon crawling awaits next year, then!

Jumping into a new 3D artstyle with new (and old) characters and more chaos than ever, we're big fans of the first game, so we're ready to go all-in on this follow-up this year.

The Eternal Life of Goldman (Switch)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 1
Physical?
Yes

A "vibrant yet dark" indie platformer from Weappy Studio, we just adore the look and animation of The Eternal Life of Goldman. Seriously, check out the Direct trailer and tell us it's not one of the best-looking games on this list.

Hand-drawn, hand-coloured, painstakingly detailed, we hope plating it as sublime as looking at it. And it promises to be challenging but without all of the nonsense. Perhaps we'll see a Switch 2 version so those visuals really pop.

Out Of Words (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 2
Physical?
TBC

Oh, here's another co-op adventure! And another stunning-looking one at that. Stop motion animation will forever be a favourite of ours, and Out Of Words is using the medium to incredible effect.

Kurt and Karla can't speak, and have been transported to Vokabulantis, a colourful world full of weird and wonderful things. This is all about the first time the pair held hands — awww! With the genre exploding at the moment, we hope this has something magical instore for us.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 1 & Switch 2
Physical?
TBC, but Level-5 seems to have abandoned physical releases in the West

Level-5's return has been steady so far, but the developer is committing to the Switch 2 alongside the Switch. Professor Layton's first new adventure in over a decade (we're not counting Katrielle here, sorry!) is going multiplatform and sees some big changes for Layton and Luke.

The New World of Steam is going 3D with a whole new setting and tons of new puzzles, as you'd expect.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 2
Physical?
Code in the box

Almost a year after it arrived on other consoles, Bethesda revealed that Oblivion Remastered is also making its way to Switch 2. And it looks pretty darn good, at least from early footage.

Hopefully the bugs from other versions will be ironed out by the time we get our hands on this, but we're eager to return to a classic world with a new lick of paint — it's one of Bethesda's best, and we hope it makes the Switch 2 jump better than Skyrim did.

Witchbrook (Switch 2)

Launch date
2026
Platform
Switch 1 & Switch 2
Physical?
TBC

Announced way back in 2020, Witchbrook finally made a reappearance during March's Nintendo Direct. Then, we found out the social RPG is also coming to the successor!

Beautiful pixel art and myriad systems make up what looks to be an enthralling and fun experience and you attend a magical school. You can play online with friends or go with the flow yourself. We're glad to see Chucklefish back on the dash and can't wait to check this out in 2026.

Finally, for good measure, here's a few titles coming out in 2027...

As you can see, there's plenty to come in Nintendo land. Tell us if you think there's something else we should have on our radar in the comments!

Frequently Asked Questions

We might be done with the games for now, but we're sure you have questions about the Switches libraries. In fact, you do! Here are some common ones that we have answers for.

Are games still coming out for Switch 1?

Yep, they are. Nintendo has another first-party Switch exclusive coming in 2026 - Rhythm Heaven Groove in July - following the release of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream earlier in the year.

That doesn't mean you have to cling onto the Switch 1 — remember, the Switch 2 is backwards compatible after all.

Is Super Mario Odyssey 2 launching on Switch 2?

Ummm... we hate to break it to you, but there's no Super Mario Odyssey 2. At least not yet.

Nintendo hasn't yet announced a brand new 3D Mario game for the Switch 2, which we're a little bit shocked by. It put he bananas in the basket with Donkey Kong Bananza. But that doesn't mean Nintendo's own mascot won't get his own game anytime soon.

Not even the Super Mario Galaxy Movie brought its own game — instead, we just got Switch 1 ports of Galaxy and Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Is there a brand new Star Fox game?

Pinch yourself, fans, there is. Kind of!

Star Fox is coming to the Switch 2 this June, but it is a reimagining of Star Fox 64. Still, there are new challenges, difficulty levels, a new multiplayer mode, and lots of little features new to the Switch 2 remake. And apparently there's a greater focus on the story.

Don't forget, we'll be keeping this list up to date over the course of the Switch 2's life — and the Switch 1 is still hanging in there into 2027 — so keep this page bookmarked! Is there a game you're really excited for? Think we've forgotten something big? Let us know in the comments.
