Mini Review Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (Switch 1) - An Impressive Version If You've Yet To Upgrade
Smooth as a Morph Ball 'round a half pipe
After having completed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on Switch 2, booting the game up on the original Switch was an immediately familiar, if bizarre experience. The game was almost certainly made with Nintendo’s 2017 system in mind from the off given how long it’s been in development, and yet there’s...

The hype is real for this year's E3. We've got a resurgent Nintendo, riding on the crest of Switch's enormous success. As a result, every publisher and their mum is trying to squeeze games onto the hybrid console faster than you can say Call of Duty (apart from, it would seem, Activision)...

UK Charts Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40
An unremarkable start to 2026
The latest UK Charts data is in, and truth be told, it's a pretty predictable, unremarkable start to the year. EA SPORTS FC 26 has once again taken the lead, with the majority of sales on the PS5. Mario Kart World maintains the silver medal, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still manages to keep itself in the top ten, despite...
Poll So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?
Myles-age may vary
When Metroid Prime 4 previews dropped back in November, series fans were rightly worried that the biggest killer in the game may not be scourge of the Space Pirates and bounty hunter extraordinaire Samus Aran, but a geeky sidekick apparently out to murder the series' pensive, lonesome tone with his inane geekery and unwanted...

Take a guess
Like other iconic Nintendo series, Metroid has a timeline documenting Samus' space adventures from past to present. Although the newest outing Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is very much its own thing, it is still part of the Prime series as a new chapter. Outside of the first-person entries, it's now apparently been mentioned by Nintendo how...

"We resolved to move forward with our original vision"
As you'll know if you've read our review, we adored Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and consider it to be one of the highlights of the Switch 2's library. However, with a Metacritic rating of 79 at the time of writing, it's clear that Samus' latest adventure didn't strike the same chord with many pla
News Fans Uncover Unused Dialogue From Metroid Prime 4
More chatter from Myles
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has received mostly positive reception, but it's safe to say that not everybody is keen on the dialogue from Samus' Federation Trooper pals. Now, thanks to a video from Bearborg (cheers, VGC), even more unused dialogue has been showcased (from approx 7:38 in t

UK Charts Metroid Prime 4 Falls From The Top Ten
Guess who reclaimed pole position
We've got our latest look at the UK physical gaming charts and, rather expectedly, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has taken quite the tumble from its bronze-medal debut last week. Samus' latest now finds itself in 15th position, with the top 10 awash with Switch and Switch 2 titles as we approach the holidays. Mario Kart...

Preview Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Great, But I Want To Kill One Of Its Characters
Feisty one, you are
I recently got to go hands-on with the Switch 2 Edition of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and not just to play that opening section that everyone and their mum has played at this point. No, I got to play over an hour of one of the game’s earlier parts proper, once Samus has appropriately lost all her abilities because the plot...
Hands On Metroid Prime 4: Beyond On Switch 2 Is Staggering
Beyond expectations
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond being cross-gen was inevitable. After a near two-decade wait for a sequel and a handful of delays, including a return from series developer Retro Studios, the game needed to land with a bang. And boy did it when it re-emerged during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct. We've seen it twice since, and each time...

Thank you Nintendo! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!
2019??? Well you made us wait 8 years, guess we'll be waiting 10
Just add in a 3rd person view this time!
@BezBot Amazon has it listed for December 31st as the Yoshi game and others. So I guess it is a better scenario than just 2019. Up to now, just thought this was a speculation... it is truly coming.
@Turbo857 Like they did with Metroid: Other M, I loved that game, I usually don't like FPS, but it's mostly because of controls, the Wii had the ability to do it right with the motion+ but they just didn't quite do it right on the Prime 1-3, I'm hoping the Switch will offer better control of Samus and all the internal workings of the suit
It does not matter because the hopefully the world will end before it’s release 😡
By the look of it, there are no games for switch, just remakes, or announcements... I wasted my Christmas gift for nothing...
cant wait; omg!!!!!!!!
Late 2022 release date at best. Having herd no new news i just can't see this coming next year
Still nothing in mid 2021. Doubt we'll get any news this year
5 months later...still nothing. Hopefully this game will be good (when it releases). Let's hope for a game awards showcase.
2022 June 1st here
@SynapticFlow oh how this aged...
i forgot when this game was even announced but cant believe it was 2017 lol, as well at E3 which is now likely a past time
we out here 2023 ☠️ bruh
I think next direct is going to be it finally!
Your score for switch version of the game is a insult to my intelligence, a true disgrace. I completely lost trust in your competence.
And I'm writing this without emotional load, just stating facts.
It makes absolutely no sense, especially considering that version for switch 2 (basically the same game) scored 9
It's without a doubt the best looking (sounding ?) and performing game for the platform - the gameplay is streamline and flawless
Gamedesign is very good
And art direction just tops it.
I don’t understand your reasoning at all.
(For the context I’m also journalist and in game dev - first game written in 93
…And finished many Metroid games for various platforms multiple times (except wii and 3ds)
