@wheels2050 - Yeah, Ghostbusters was a bit short but I found the levels very replayable as the gameplay was a lot of fun.
Re: Excitebots and Pikmin 2, shame the respective regions didnt get them. Japan also got the very charming overlooked Gamecube title 'Chibi-Robo' as a new play control Wii title.
It was bought for me by a relative (which puzzled me) but I actually found it to be a delightful and adorably well-presented little game. The dialog is actually well-written, with humorous and original characters! When does that happen? Even some of the best first-party Nintendo games have god-awful text.

The Samurai Shodown series is classic, but often forgotten. They're very deep and complex fighters with loads of personality. This collection includes Samurai Shodown 1-6, only missing Samurai Shodown V Special (and the only stinker being SS5, boy did that game have balance issues!). In my opinion, SS6 alone makes the collection worth it. It has every fighter the series has ever saw packed into one game, and complimented by 6 different move sets that you can choose from. It also includes 4 exclusive fighters, all of which are mad awesome. Oh, and did I mention it was the only game not released outside Japan prior to the Anthology's release? This collection really is a must.
The only problem with the series is that it's very slow and methodic. Guilty Gear this is not. You really have to take your time, watch for openings, and be careful, since one wrong move could mean the end for you. This may not be a problem for everyone, but it's definitely different from most fighting games, so you'll have to get used to it.
is resident evil darkside chronicles overlooked? if you like the feel of shooting zombies in re4 or 5, you'll like this game. the way the gunplay feels is basically the same as re4 on wii. to me anyway
EDIT: ok not "zombies", ganados and whatever they're called in re5. uroboros?
A Boy & His Blob! I knew I was forgetting to put a game on my Wishlist!
Please tell me it was more enjoyable than Kirby's Epic yarn.
Yes, definitely. It's number 2 on my top ten games of all time.
But don't get me wrong, I loved Epic Yarn. I'm a huge Kirby fan, and I thought it was a wonderful addition to the series. The art style was amazing and the soundtrack fit it perfectly. I didn't care about the difficulty because I didn't notice it with all the fun I was having. And hey, I actually liked the hub.
I kind of don't like reading this thread... it just reminds me that there are a ton of Wii games that I always wanted but didn't pick up and over time forgot about. Now I'm incredibly tempted to try to hunt some of them down when I KNOW that I don't/won't have the time to actually get my money's worth from them (let alone the games I already do own that I haven't done that with yet).
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, A Boy and His Blob, and Endless Ocean 2: Blue World have been on my Amazon wish list for pretty much as long as they've each existed, and hearing other people say good things about any one of them is making me come so much closer to hitting "Add to Cart" on at least one of them.
Must... resist urge... to spend money... frivolously... shortly before getting married.... also while I still haven't gotten around to finishing Kirby's Epic Yarn even though it's one of my favorite games (though that's mostly because a friend and I played through most of it on 2-player mode, and I'm still waiting for a chance for us to finish it).
Personally I enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend it. I wasn't expecting it to be the same as Metroid Prime so that definitely helped not hating on the game
I should note that Crystal Bearers is a very flawed game.
In what way is it flawed? I must admit it's an odd style of game with the QTE all the time, but the story was quite good, graphics good and music excellent.

I wanted to like this so bad. Needless to say, I no longer own it.
To me the Wii has become home to some of the most promising games that just needed a sequel to fix them up in order to become masterpieces. On an intellectual and analytical level this is fascinating, but on a "woohoo! fun!" level, not so much.
Games like Crystal Bearers, Epic Mickey, Other M, Zack & Wiki, Fragile Dreams etc.
The one game I can whole-heartedly, unequivocally recommend (which incidentally, is a sequel) would be Endless Ocean: Blue World (aka Adventures of the Deep in Europe). That game IS a masterpiece and should be played by anyone with a Wii and a passion for exploration and discovery.

-Story never went anywhere interesting...except when it did it didn't give it enough time or reason for anyone to care. It's like suddenly "yeah, there's this thing sorry to not tell you...oh ok it's over nvm". No major character development either. Just some ok reveals. A problem when at least 1/3 of the game is cutscenes.
-Too many minigames. At times it almost seems like a parody of Wii games. "Hey we have a real full Final Fantasy game...hahahaha jk of course it's mostly minigames "
-Only some of the minigames were good. The first couple of them and the train and boss battles were incredibly fun and most looked really awesome. The ones where you chased or were chased were pretty bad though, like being chased from some monster for like 10 minutes or something. Some other ok ones...and then we get THAT BEACH GAME. To this day, I have no idea how that works, after 45 minutes I won, and I'm certain that's only because the game pitied me.
-Good example of why Wii-Motion plus existed. Trying to get a health increase by beating all the monsters in time is a nightmare since sometimes there's enemies you can only beat a specific way and sometimes you don't throw it the way you intended so you don't beat all the enemies and you have to try all over again.
TWO THIRDS OF A FINAL FANTASY GAME IS CUTSCENES AND MINIGAMES. NO.
And I kinda liked the game too. When everything worked, it was really fun and different and stuff. Great soundtrack too.
