Skate It. I bought it for 15 bucks thinking it was going to be a fun little game I'd play for a few hours, but I think I put over 100 hours in it. The reason it's so good is because of the bailing, it's just fun making yourself fall off big ramps and stuff.
Dewey's Adventure. Dewey's. Freakin'. Adventure. It's by the same team who did Elebits but not nearly as popular. You may have even overlooked it for being to cute, but at the time of its release, it was actually one of the best looking Wii games, rivaling the visuals in Super Mario Galaxy. The controls take some getting used to, but damn it was fun! The level designs were fun and inventive, it uses motion control in some very fun ways, and even had a stage builder and multiplayer! For those wondering what Dewey is all about, think Kororinpa meets Legend of Zelda. That's probably not a good of way describing it, but you just have to try it for yourself.
honestly, I thought it was just "ok". Ok use of motion controls (if occasionally annoying) in an ok platformer. Stage Builder didn't interest me (someday I'll get an actually great game with one of those so I can enjoy it). And the only thing that was really interesting was the solid, liquid, gas transformations, which were surpassed and used better in Fluidity anyway.
However, I did completely randomly get a free plushie out of it, which is cool.
One game that comes to mind is Red Steel 2. It's not as obscure as other games in this thread, but I still feel it's terribly underrated. It looked cool and played fantastic, seriously one of the most satisfying experiences I've played on the Wii. Remember when Wii came out and everyone thought, "Wow, I can't wait to do Wii Sword Fighting"? This was the game they were waiting for. I understand that they would be timid after the huge letdown of the first game, but they've completely revamped it for the better and have really redeemed themselves. Also I've seen it for 20 bucks bundled with MotionPlus, so go get it!
I agree with all of this. I own the first one and understand how bad it is but the difference between the first and second Red Steel are night and day. Red Steel 2 is better in every single way and it's a shame that more people haven't giving it a chance.

Very glad to see someone post this. The game is not perfect, I thought controls needed to be tighter and there wasn't enough control over the camera. Also the game is a little bit too cute for its own good, taking things further than Little King's Story even, which probably deterred a lot of people. On the other hand there are aspects in the game that are executed so masterfully you start to wonder if Konami is growing their own Miyamoto clones in a lab somewhere (we know they have the tech, with all the Snake clones running around )
Presentation is like no other game released at the time (2007). In terms of graphical prowess and amount of features I felt the game easily surpassed Mario Galaxy. There is actual, meaningful multi-player, not to mention a deep level editor with the option to share levels on Wii Connect 24, something even Nintendo hasn't done properly. The design is unique and very likable, definitely has a very "Nintendo" feel to it. You can see the inspiration from Zelda, Mario, Kirby etc. but it's also got its own personality. The fact that such a game was so effortlessly released by Konami just left me in awe of their development capabilities. This wasn't even a major project for them and it could've easily passed as a Nintendo classic with a little bit more polish in some places.
Reminds me of Zack & Wiki in that both games have some masterfully executed qualities to them, that prove to me other devs can be just as good as Nintendo, but don't enjoy nearly the same level of success unfortunately.
I agree with the post that said Fluidity improved on the basic mechanics quite a lot, but given that it's a 2D game rather than 3D, as well as released 3 years later, I still give mad props to Konami. If they ever make a sequel/spiritual successor borrowing some of the tricks from Curve Studios (guys who made fluidity) I would be on it like water on fish
Wario Land: Shake It and Muramasa the Demon Blade were both pretty underrated (didn't sell that well) and both of those games should be in the library of anyone who likes platformers and side-scrollers.
completely agreed
I probably originally overhyped and pretended to like Muramasa a bit more than I should (this is not the hack n slash equivalent of a Super Metroid), but it is still just so incredibly fun and did everything right.
Based on my amazing experience with Wario Land Shake it!, it completely and utterly beats the crap out of both NSMBWii and Kirby's Epic Yarn as far as Nintendo Side Scrolling Platformers go on the Wii....But I have yet to play DKC Returns, so I can't comment on that. But Wario Land Shake it! is Still my favorite Wii game and for good reason.
Also, I've never played ExciteTruck....But I do own and have played the hell out of Excitebots, and after experiencing that i don't think i could ever bother with Excitetruck....Excitetruck has boring trucks and a lame sound track....While ExciteBOTS has crazy bug bots, quirky trippy tunes and even crazier gameplay.
