Hi All,

Just purchased this game on the Wii format, & I am having a problem with the general gameplay rules!!!

I am playing it in two player mode, my problem is when you land on a property square you are given 2 options:

1. To buy the property for the full value, or
2. To select "Auction" & the property is then auctioned.

Even if no one bids for the property it still goes to the player whose go it is!!!

My question is, is there anyway of landing on a property square & just saying NO to buying it or auctioning it? So you can play the game as per the board game & buy the property you want to buy when you land on it.

Thanks in advance.
Kev.

Probably not. I've not played Monopoly Streets yet, but other electronic versions I've played use the Buy/Auction rules - the 'no purchase necessary' rule is only an unofficial one, so it tends to be omitted from electronic releases.
Similarly, everyone I play with has the rule that when you land on one of the Tax spaces or pay your way out of jail, the money goes into the middle of the board, and anyone who lands on Free Parking wins all the money in the middle, but this is an unofficial rule also.

I got a monopoly PC game with some cereal several years ago, and it not only had unlock-able rule modes, but also a custom rules mode. But yea, the Buy/Auction was the default. It didn't bother me too much because everyone I played it with bought everything they landed on anyways.
