Topic: Why did you buy Wii?

VC, 1st Party games and the promise of awesome FPS and such. Mostly VC, but WiiWare has turned out to be a very exciting service.

Actually I won mine in a magazine contest, but I was going to buy it anyway for my Nintendo hardware collection (it ain't that big but has the essentials), I also wanted to play all the new games. Since I have NES, SNES, N64 and many good games for them, I didn't care about VC, to be honest I though that the VC was going to have just a few Nintendo old games, luckily I was wrong.

I was queueing for 8 hours to buy it on release. Been a nintendo fanboy all of my life. I bought it for the new zelda, wii sports, the vc (and the waggle controls lol) And by the way i don't cheat on my mate besides the lovechild the DSi

oh oh and all the other great franchises (I am looking at you kid icarus!!!) lowers eyebrows

Because I thought there would be more hardcore games.

I got it for two reasons:
1)I am a long-standing Nintendo fan-boy.
2)I played it at my cousin's house and I fell in love! :3

Got it free as a birthday gift from my uncle mostly use it for VC since the first nintendo console thing i ever had was a gamecube i get to expirenced the great old skool games for the first time

I don't like that PS3 and Xbox360 focus way too much on mature players
In addition the only game on PS3 i'd like to play is Little Big Planet
I am also a Nintendo Fanboy, so the choice wasn't too hard for me^^

I got a Wii because PS3 was too expensive and Xbox 360 is the system of choice of jerky frat boys! Just joking .. well the 360 comment is true.

Seriously, I'm a Nintendo geek at heart and the VC is a classic gamer's dream come true.

i've been with nintendo since 1991 when i first got my snes and have had nintendo consoles ever since and they havent let me down so far...well not much that is. Even though nintendo and most of the people/companies doing games for the Wii lean toward casual the console still has alot of good games. i got only 10 Wii games and i'm pretty happy with those, i dont understand people complaining about the wiis games, and stating that the other consoles have more then double of the AAA games the Wii has, my only question is, where do you find the time to play them all? i have 10 wii games 10 gamecube games and 10+ vc games, i have school/work i watch tv/movies and i hang out with my friends, out of those games i've maybe finished 4 wii games 6 gc games (the gc games are since 2002-2009) anyway i will be sticking with nintendo for along time, or unless they do a total makeover and go casual only, i'm ok with casual friendly games like mario, but wii fit is a bit too much.

I bought the wii for any and all zelda games that will come out for the system.

Nintendo games make me smile - a lot

Because I like the games that are available on the system, and working out + gaming = fun. Why else?

Seemed like the perfect way to play Shooters and Racers to me.
Kinda pleased with the shooting side so far.... Ghost Squad, Overkill & World at War suit me fine.
But the racers, jeez, whats going on?

Mario kart????????

I use the pad to play Mario Kart, so it don't count!
Excite Truck and Speed Racer were ok, although the absence of 'in-car view' leaves me unsatisfied (its how I like to play)

Wii Sports and the Virtual Console. The second reason is almost pointless cuz I can get most of those games on emulators for my PC. I'm also sort of a Nintendo fanatic.

I bought the Wii for 2 reasons:
1) For Zelda
2) For the VC

I came for Wii Sports, I stayed for the Nintendo arcade revival, and was pleasantly surprised along the way by the Wiiware....

Looking foward to Wii Sports 2, perhaps another Pikmin, Mario platformer, and the 'new Zelda'

Also keeping an eye on soon to release Let's Tap, Endless Ocean 2, Bit Trip d-pad shooter, and the dark horse and left field games.....

Why WOULDN'T I buy a Wii? I wanted the VC, awesome first-party retail games, and whatever exclusive third-party games that don't suck crop up. As an obsessive gamer, particularly one who grew up playing NES and SNES, I couldn't NOT buy a Wii to go next to my PS3 and below/to the right of my Xbox 360 (<-pointless room layout description)!

I got Wii because It was getting more popular than DS. I was just a happy boy playing my DS untill Wii came out. On T.V, they were only showing WII games. All the games I wanted were for wii. The Nintendo DS was in the shadows. Then one day, my mom took me to Best buy and I got the wii. Ever since then, my life changed.
That's why I got wii.
