Basically what Im asking is what is the main reason that you bought the Wii. Did you buy it for all the Wii games or for VC selection? I see alot of people on here who rarely buy Wii games and just VC games, so what do you buy?
Well i buy both of them, but i cant seem to find Zack and Wiki anywhere.
I bought it because it was the latest in technology... and because all of the best Nintendo games would be on it. Whether it be VC games or Wii games, I don't care, I buy them all!
I've seen way too many people overlook games like Okami, Zack & Wiki (which I also can't find any but that's not the point), and Metroid Prime: Corruption because they're sorta ignorant about games that are even the slightest bit motion-controlled and just bought the Wii for the VC.
I bought it for Brawl, and the VC. And then I bought a bunch of GC (and VC games of course) and I don't buy Wii games since most are poor value for their cost, when compared to other games.
I got it partially for the VC, partially for Zelda, and partially for the DS connectivity. I was disappointed by the second, the first did the same for a while but it's looking up, and I lost interest in the last.
I bought because I was getting a bit tired of the same old faster processor, more RAM better graphics mentality, it seemed like the same formula was just repeating itself, and the wii with the wiimote offered an alternative to the same old thing, that's not to say all games have used the wiimote right, but those that did made for some great gaming, also all those old classics on VC are a huge plus, it even has games and consoles never released in Europe before, but the main reason is it wasn't just another graphically updated console but offered something different.
Actually, I enjoyed some of the demos I was able to play at the stores. Wii Sports opened up so many posibilities that I now find it a bit frusterating that they haven't exploited this system enough. I've bought around 12 games and can honestly say that there's not really much of anything else out there I want with the execption of a few.
Another reason I bought this is because it makes you get off your butt (GOYB). I find I CAN play these games sitting down, but enjoy them a bit more when standing up. I love Mario Kart and can rarely sit when I'm playing it.
Another reason is I have 2 kids. Nintendo is usually the most kid friendly system out there. I don't need highly graphic games around my house just so I can dramatize my children by being consumed by a zombie. LOL! Plus Mario is something of a household name. When I was young it was always Nintendo. While I do own a Playstation 2, I don't necesarily relate to any of the characters. Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Wario, Yoshi, Kirby, Zelda/Link, are all names I relate to.
Pikmin 3 is another reason I wanted the Wii. I WAS hoping we'd see it by now.

Ditto on that! I can't tell you how many times I've told people this same thing. All these games appear to be nothing but the same thing under a different title. Resistance, Gears of War, ect...... look good, but are they REALLY that different in how they look and play?

The only reason why i bought my Wii was because i HAD to play Super Smash Bros Brawl, but later on i tried the Virtual Console (And i liked it), now i dont buy so much Wii games anymore.
(a) the VC (i grew up with Nintendo games, so I would be able to re-buy some of the ones I'd lost/traded/sold over the years) (b) I had skipped the prior generation (PS2, GC) so I was ready for a new console (and it was backwards-compatible to boot) (c) it wasn't 'five-hundred-and-ninety-nine-US-dollars'

A) I loved my N64 and GCN. B)Twilight Princess C)The Wiimote is more worth buying a new system for then a mere graphics update (IMO) EDIT: I got my Wii on US launch day.

Brawl and VC. With very few exceptions, I can play just about all my favorite games on one system now, which pretty much rules. I sold all my old systems except the SNES and it pretty much paid for the Wii and most of my games for it, so it's worked out well for me, especially with the SD update.
Gottlieb Pinball Classics and the promise of Williams Pinball Classics and that's a fact. If I hadn't seen the former and read about the latter being worked on soon after I probably wouldn't have the machine right now.
for christmas i was either going to get equipment for table tennis or a wii and a friend told me why dont you play table tennis on the wii and thats why i got it
I bought my Wii because I like the kind of games we get on Nintendo consoles. I'm very happy with it actually. I have a 360 too and am thinking of selling that. I've been gaming since I was about 8 (am now 27) so I don't consider myself a casual gamer either. The VC was what completely sold me on it.
I was the first Wii owner in Connecticut, and I got in the newspaper!! But really I was eager to see the new control scheme, and I just been Nintendo fan since I was in diapers...Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin FTW!!
