Come to think of it, I never saw The Three Muskateers featured even once in any issues of Nintendo Power Magazine. They usually do a pretty good job of covering WiiWare games from smaller developers. That really is a shame; I'm sure that would have really helped promote this game.
I've not been able to get in touch with so many members of the press, unless you're a big named developer/publisher alot of the time they simply disregard your mail without even reading it!
MattL, I'm on the ONM forums (the UK ones if you mean that), point me to the thread so that I can spank em!
*Edit, thanks Pixelman, that's a very kind offer for you to make:)
Just had another look on the Nintendo Power US website, there's no form or point of contact. Does anyone happen to have an issue that they could grab a name or email address from for me please? Being in the UK, it's hard to source American print:(
Well I am glad that NL.com has had a lot of coverage on the game and actually makes me want to give it a download. It was one of those titles I kind of passed over at first, but came back to a number of times. Also, what can I say, I am a sucker for 2-D platformers.

I think WiiWare is about the actual idea itself and very little about the presentation. Whereas retail titles have quite a bit of freedom to toss in a bunch of eye candy and orchestrated musical scores, WiiWare tends to be about the gameplay itself. That's why I'm afraid that games like The Three Musketeers with its gorgeous visual presentation is a bit wasted on the service. You see games like World of Goo, the Bit.Trip series, and many others that take the "less is more" approach and they are the games many are focusing on with the service. While I think it's great that you've pushed the envelope of the service, you might be better off going with the same approach those who've had success have made use of. Put more emphasis on the idea and gameplay itself and not as much on the visual experience. But what do I know.
I still love the visual style of The Three Musketeers and I wish more gamers would take a chance on some of these titles that seem to sadly slip through the cracks at times. Of course I'm not fond of media sites just bashing a game with little to no reasoning given either.
@eripmav: Nintendo Power is now run by Future Publications. I'm not too sure who you may need to contact but here is some info that I hope will be of assistance: FUTURE PLC 30 Monmouth St., Bath, Avon, BA1 2BW, England www.futureplc.com Tel +44 1225 442244 or FUTURE US, Inc. 4000 Shoreline Court, Suite 400, South San Francisco, CA 94080 www.futureus.com
Good old Future, those of you in blighty may have seen my rantings in a few mags:) Others may have seen me modding some of their forums...with an iron rod naturally!
I've found a couple of addresses whilst hunting on the US varient, so hopefully something will come of it! Thanks Wolf:)
Blimey Pixel, you're on the ball:) I've been chatting with the reviewer in question, I don't want to reveal anything good or bad. It'll be interesting to see what he gives us, he has passed on his main gripes to me so I do have a rough score in mind as to what he'll award the game..
Cheers Matt. I do like the way he's instantly telling people not to download it yet fails to respond to emails I've sent, PMs yada yada yada.
As their own staff member said, you can't just say a game's awful without actually playing it.
Wow, that's reprehensible. Something tells me that if a staff member at NL spouted off, "Don't buy this trash!" without even playing the game, they'd very quickly be getting a strongly-worded email from Dazza. (Heck, I get those strongly-worded emails for much less. )
Bed time for me, it's 12am. Too tired to sit up waiting and then possibly go to bed in a bad mood! I'll go to bed with my fingers crossed...I'd cross my legs too but that'd make the wife uncomfortable!
I do agree with you both Matt and Chicken, I'd spank my staff members on my website for reviewing a game that they'd not touched! Ok, in theory he may well have played the game. I daresay they have an unlimited Wii account for their downloads being Official and all, but it doesn't bode well just out and out saying something like that without backing up said statement with something substational as to why. Bah, I need sleep!
*edit baffling used in the wrong context....very tired.
