Got it, despite your blasphemous post about not liking Trent . And I'd happily recommend it but none of my friends are into the Wii. How are sales doing? Inquiring minds want to know!
The fact that it hasn't cracked the Top 20 so far surprises me. I figured the name alone would sell it. Should have put more fish into it. I keep trying to tell developers to use the fish. They sell.
Putting up gameplay videos of The Three Muskateers on Nintendo Life is definitely what sold me on this game. If it wasn't for that I probably would have ignored the game completely. At first glance it didn't look like my cup of tea but actually seeing the game in motion really got my attention. I think Nintendo Life did a really good job helping to expose this game to potential buyers. I do hope that sales for this game pick up but it is going to be kind of tough now that NyxQuest is finally out.
Also, Corbie does have a point. The Three Fishkateers does have a nice ring to it!
I bought it, though I'm sure you are aware of that. Alas, no such luck finding people to recommend it to. I do think you got the short end of the stick with review focus, however. Being released alongside a hyped title like Tales of Monkey Island for 1 dollar less and alongside a card game for 500 points, it was mixed between hardcore "day one" gamers and casual "I like cards/fish/Tetris" gamers. :<
I got to world 3, and I'm getting a better feel for it. One of those levels in World 2 is a killer, though. I'd recommend a better jump for the next platformer you make. It is a bit annoying to have died so often so early in the level.
And for a side note, my brother is not happy I got this game. He won't let me get NyxQuest as a result, cause "You made your decision." Of course, this is also due to next week being the release of Shadow Complex. Blah.
I don't work alongside the coders etc, I'm a good couple of countries away! Sorry for the late replies, I've been asleep and I'm still rather bleary eyed now.
A sequel is a possibility but again, still dependant on sales:(
I bought it. I'm playing Bomberman '94 and The Munchables right now, but once one of those is complete I'll give it a go. I finished Icarian last week -- ace!
Kudos to you Sean:) I think alot of people are holding off for more reviews in truth, getting a response out of some companies however's harder than one would assume.
@eripmav Yeah thank god btw that Trent isn't Rob Schneider, it´s like comparing shit and bubblegum... NIN ftw
The Ngamer magazine is the biggest Ninty magazine in ol' blighty but you already knew that, right? I sure would like to download the game but I'm short on cash and wiiware is very expensive in Sweden, almost as expensive as a discounted disc-release. I sure have to support my local devs (Gothenburg) pretty soon though if I would like to apply for a job there.
Thus the inherit problem with WiiWare. Even if this game is good, if it's not in the top 20, most people won't see it. Sure people on this site will see it, but I doubt that's a lot of sales. And I'm sure the company doesn't have the money to promote the game aside form PR (maybe give away the game as a gift or something, but that's it) but even a contest like that would probably only reach people who already know about the game.
From a marketing standpoint, Nintendo really needs to add a user voted top 20 or something, or promote games for the smaller companies.
I cannot say I've found multiplayer Tetris very compelling, but I'd be willing to give it a go. I've been playing Defender (GC) and The Munchables (amazing game) recently so online is taking a back seat for now. Thursday I'll probably be up for some online gaming.
