you don't think bad level design (walking through the same corridors for 20 minutes on end) has an impact on how well the game plays?
Hey that sounds like a game that begins with "Other" and ends with "M".
Honestly all I'm expecting from this game is satisfying gunplay, a consistent framerate, and a bug-free and balanced online component. If both of those are there, it'll be exactly what I want. Of course this comes from a guy who likes Gameloft's iOS shooters, so I guess my standards are a bit low. :3
One of the delays was because they needed to implement Classic Controller support to compete with Call of Duty and GoldenEye.
that's not true, they said the controller support took "all of a day" to program. they just didn't want to get overshadowed by the other big FPS releases. this delay, from what i've heard, is to balance and test the online.
That's part of why the game was originally delayed from November to February. How do you explain the two delays since then?
It's not just about releasing at the same time. People who play online FPS usually play for months and wouldn't be looking for anything new just yet, so putting it out a couple of months after release would be not too much different from a same day launch. I suppose it's possible for additional tweaks or to ensure online is ready, but simple marketing is equally likely.
it's true. i was really not interested in picking it up in february since i'm still into goldeneye too much to bother with another shooter. april makes me much more likely to try it.
Other M had good corridors? Haha.... no. Maybe you meant Metroid Prime which a good portion of it is trudging through corridors. And the delay, while in part it is to avoid the 3DS and release the game at the right time to help sales (Like Cameron did for Avatar and Titanic), but a part of the delays are getting Nintendo's approvals for online patching, updates, etc.

I'm really hoping this is better than Black Ops for lag and local matches. It seems like Activision has broken something in the game because every match I get is dominated by folks in North America. I wouldn't have a problem with that in principle, but lag seems to affect nearly every match no matter what the ping levels are. The game is also famously killing older Wii optical drives because the levels are so big the disc is constantly accessing. The Conduit had some decent-sized levels and whilst I like the big maps in Black Ops, I'd happily trade off if it meant avoiding wearing out my drive.
Anyway I hope to see lots of "Lifers" online and hopefully y'all will get Headbangers. The sound quality isn't brilliant, but it's pretty good and not as much a pain to set up as Wii Speak was.
@Sean: I'll be playing Conduit 2 online as long as it isn't universally panned, haha. No headset though -- I don't like 'em. I really wish it'd support keyboard chat.

Nah, there;s more fog, floating creatures and rocks.
You're right. I was focusing on the bottom-left screen, which appears eerily similar to Half-Life 2's monument.
