You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Sorry for double posting but, look at the clouds and the bushes. Ill give a lollypop to the person who notices it.

Because PheonixSage doesn't. You do know that PheonixSage is just another name for god, right?

Fanboys are blasted idiots then. Anyone who has played the NSMB games can clearly tell the difference between the Wii and DS versions from the first blasted level.
If they switched off the game(s) after noticing the fact that the first few blocks and that one goomba are the same, they need to stfu and get an Xbox.

I've played through the second world, and I see no differences whatsoever. Changing the level layout does not a different game make. Remove the multi-player aspect, and what is the difference between the DS and Wii game? Identical principles, identical plot, identical gameplay, the power-ups are either cribbed from previous games (fire flower, ice flower, micro mushroom) or modified old power-ups (penguin=frog, propeller=any previous flying suit) ... it's the same game. The ONLY reason this game exists on Wii is the multi-player. Otherwise, it's a DS game.

@The_Main_Topic To be serious, the gameplay style isn't new. It's old, 2D Mario. However, that doesn't mean that the game is exactly the same as any other old, 2D Mario game. The New Super Mario Bros. games have added new power-ups and objects (objects being springboards, platforms, etc.) into the old gameplay style.

I believe that's the selling point. It's got new levels, new enemies, and new powers, but that's kinda the bare minimum for a sequel. Then it's got the added multiplayer that gives it that edge to justify the price, but all in all, it does feel very much like an improved version of the DS outing combined with other elements from Super Mario 3 and World, and if it it weren't for multiplayer, I'd even say that it would've been better off on the DS, if only for portability and a lower price.
The Super Mario games always seem to reinvent themselves with each outing, while still keeping the same formula, so a game that plays so similar to the previous games seems rather lax. Still, I'm pretty sure New Super Mario Bros. Wii was never meant to be the next big thing in Mario, anyways. More just a nostalgic throwback, very much like the DS game, and is just there as filler while fans wait for the next big game in the series.
@brainofj While I would like to type in all caps and say that every FPS game on the Behemoth consoles (the Xbox360 and the PS3) are Call of Duty clones and deny that NSMBW is different than the original because I'm a slight fanboy, I know that both of those are not completely true. While every FPS usually takes almost everything from Call of Duty, it brings something different to the table. While New Super Mario Bros. Wii is same as the the DS version, it tries to bring simultaneous 4-player Mutliplayer into a Mario game. And for the most part it worked. So let's just move on and think about the future, Okay?

I would disagree (I think the multi-player is cumbersome and chaotic), but that's just opinion, not fact. And I was just putting in my two-cents is all, since there are some who think anybody who doesn't like NSMBW is some kind of "blind fanboy". I was trying to provide a reasoned explanation for dislike. And at the retail level, I've expressed my dislike by not buying it. Ain't spending $50 on a DS title.

If we're going to get THIS picky, then you might as well say that there have been no new Mario games since the original SMB...
