I've been trying to find out more about the Wii version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
I looked at the description on Amazon.co.uk and it describes the game like the PS3 and XBox 360 versions ie:

Online multiplayer
'Autolog' system
Play as racer or cop.
Set in Seacrest County
Etc, etc.

I then looked at the description on Amazon.com (the American site) and it's describing a totally different game:

No online multiplayer is mentioned.
Only play as a racer - not as a cop.
Not set in Seacrest County but in four real cities (Chongqing, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro and Las Vegas).
Four- player splitscreen multiplayer.
And many other differences - have look yourself.

This does not make me happy. I guessed that the Wii version may be cut down slightly - but I expected essentially the same game that's been advertised as coming out for the Wii for ages now.

What does everyone else think of this?

Seems like it's using the Need For Speed Nitro Engine with more realistic driving. Just a guess though.

EA really does not put a lot of effort into their Wii games (with a few exceptions).
They have NEVER yet implemented an online component into a Wii NFS. But, it does have split-screen multiplayer. That is missing from the HD versions. And this is an arcade racer, not realistic.

More realistic than Nitro, not straight realistic.

It's hard to find any solid information on it so I won't really know until I rent it, but I'm worried it's going to suck too. I expect it'll be missing the Autolog and HD graphics but if there's no cop/racer career mode they shouldn't have given it the hot pursuit name. I still want a racing game developed by Criterion Games on the wii but if it doesn't handle as well as Burnout Revenge on the Xbox or even Burnout 3 on the PS2 then I'm not going to touch it.

Criterion isn't developing the Wii version, Exient is the developer of the Wii version and I think they confirmed no online.

@Oregano That's too bad. IGN shows Exient as co-developers.
