Topic: Monster Hunter 3

I think everyone should at least cut their teeth by doing all the 1* off-line before jumping on-line. For your teams sake.

What do you think these posts are?

Last year I produced a basic guide to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite that was very basic but looked awesome due to it being on tea-stained paper. I'd love to write a beginner's guide but I doubt I've got the time. Leave it with me though and I'll think about it

@Prosody. Ahh the good ol' tea stained paper trick, did you watch Art Attack as a kid too? Yeah while a guide would be cool I appreciate that it is a mammoth undertaking so wouldn't expect anything like that. Just a sort of overview and some general hints and tips from an experienced hunter . That guide that machu posted seems pretty complete but I'd rather read one here on NL . Might generate some extra traffic too with all the noobs and casuals getting stuck and searching google. Appreciate you taking it into consideration anyway. Ta.

I haven't been playing this much yet. Last I played was when I was sent to get ore, about Friday, I think.
I've been doing other stuff. _{Fiance was over too} Plus I was doing that MKart Comp.

Ugh, there has to be an easier way to get these boss monster drops...lol. I damaged G. Jaggi's frill and got nothing, I made an attempt to attack Peco's beak (without luck) and destroyed one of his flints (and still got nothing) and now I'm fighting R. Ludroth (and died, lol) and all I got so far was some Dash Extract and his tail...(his mane is pretty damaged as well...)

This. I did all of the 1* and 2* quests before I seriously started playing online. Now I'm HR 17 (at the urgent quest) and haven't gone back to single player!

@BellGoRiiing The drops are unfortunately random. It doesn't matter what parts you break (although if breaking a part is a subquest, you'll get extra items when you finish).

My eyes are hurting bad, this game was definitively designed for HD and it really really needs HD. This is not for the Wii, this doesnt take any single advantage of the Wii, not even the controls, quite the opposite. This game should be released for PC (well, and 360/PS3).

Well...at least all I need now is (I believe) are flintstones to finish an armor set I'm working on. I need to find a better sword upgrade though...my attacks are starting to bounce off often.

...Anyone know where you can find frogs?...And tips on Gorbul, I hate fighting underwater.
EDIT: Actually it isn't flintstones (though I need some for a mask upgrade for Cha Cha), just remembered its the bird wyvrn fangs.

Just took on the peco in offline. Beat that bird on my first try. I was using the kinght`s lance with jaggi armor and had the help of cha cha(whom I LOVE!). Should be online here shortly.

I think I remember where to find frogs actually...but still...yeah tips on Gorbul would be nice.
I'm also using the Hunter's Dagger (its been upgraded a couple of times obviously), I forget what I need but if you have any advice on that too then please lemme know.

Im a gunner so i cant tell you anything about the sword but when fighting Globul (the fish) try to destroy his lantern (the light) its his flash bomb, try to stay away from his spikes and tail when hes out of water he can paralize you for long time and when he gets under sand look out for his attack which is like a vacuumcleaner it sucks you into his mouth (its pretty deadly) and on the ground he does a barrelroll (like Royal Ludroth) so watch out for that one too

no not on land (thank god) only in water when he goes under the sand there then he sticks his head out and vacuums. Happend to me today he vacuumed me to his mouth the he bite me and it was one hit kill (i had around 80% life)

lol its ok, but yeah I think I may have seen all of his attacks...I just have a hard time keeping him on land. (or getting a good time to attack the lantern) Ugh, these monsters never stay still huh? XD

It would probably randomly kick me off during some battle, that and I have no Wii Speak, and I'm assuming the USB keyboard would be hard to use during a fight anyway...

HolyM, so I'm guessing you don't worry too much about the fields or sending out the ships or kitchen skills or even the village points!??!? Maybe that's the way to go to enjoy the game. Its almost too stressful trying to balance which items to sell, which to keep for later, and which to use on the various things in the village.

I'm also having a hard time in general not just selling ALL my non-essential items but instead storing them in the box. I mean buying an item like the combination books never to actually use it but just hold on to? Not like other games I've played. How does anyone keep track of items they need? Also, does anyone know of a site that has the in-game-mini-guide? Its hard enough finding time to play, I don't really want to be spending it reading . . .

yeah sadly he doesnt stay out of water too long and i hate underwater fights
