A Change of weapon really can make a difference.

Naturally, I started out with a sword and shield, and had difficulty taking on a Great Jaggi, but then I switched to switch axe, and it was much easier. Then I came up against a monster where the axe wasn't suitable (at my low level of prowess) and I decided to change to Lance.

I didn't start off with a good impression of the Lance (my test monster was the delex), but it grew on me and now I'm so comfortable with it, I might branch out onto other weapons.

And as you continue to play, you'll begin to recognise the attack patterns of the boss monsters and formulate tactics - so much so that you will be able to fight one of those Great Jaggis with a sword and shield like it was a regular jaggi.

Ultimately, each weapon has its virtues, and you might find that the Sword and Shield is your perfect weapon in the end...

Does anyone know if the "Jump Four Jaggi" quest is ever going to come back? I never got the mask...

The mask is kind of a waste, honestly. I'm not sure when it's coming back, though.

@pixelman The mask isn't a waste at all. It's one of the best equips you can bring if you're looking for rare quest reward items.

@SZM @Tech101 I didn't make it, I saw it on GameFAQs and thought you guys might appreciate it.

@HolyMackerel: I've never gotten a rare item with it, and it lowers your defense drastically. It kinda all depends on luck, and I don't get much of that in this game, lol.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting this game but i have some questions.
As this will be my first game I play online, I was wondering if there are still a lot of people playing this game online as it's been out for some time now. Secondly, if you first play offline, can you then use that character to play online or do you have to start again from the lowest rank? Lastly, is wii speak for online recommended or is it just as easy to communicate without voice chat?

There's usually about 3,000-4,000 people on at a time, but on slow days hours usually only 1,000. The game's online community is nowhere near dying.

You have to take the character you create offline online. You're going to want to spend about 10 or so hours offline before you go online. Also, the name you give your character is the one that will be displayed online and you can't change it, so choose wisely!

I don't have Wii Speak. Most of us just use USB keyboards which works absolutely fine.

Hey do you guys know where to get the ore that you use with lagia stuff to make the lagia armor/weapoins, I have enouhg lagia stufff, but I don't have the ore (I really want to make a full armor set with lagia and I need it to upgrade some of my weapons)

@gaminguy You mean dragonite ore? You get it at the volcano in areas 5, 8, 9, 10.

What's the point of the jaggi mask? I have the materials for it but it's so expensive.
