Topic: Man, Madworld is just a terrible game

I bought it for $30, and I have to say it is not worth that. This game is just so overrated it's sad. Yeah it's cool for the first few minutes with all the finishers and stuff, but after seeing every finisher, there's nothing really left. It's so repetitive and dull. Please, if you're thinking about getting this game don't. Just don't. It is not good.

The only good thing about this game are the boss fights which are all epic. Too bad that's the only positive thing about the game

I respectfully disagree. In fact, the game is about making each kill as different and unique as possible in order to max out points, and in doing so, one can choose to finish levels quickly, again getting to the great bosses. There is a lot of personality in it, and it looks very good. The voice acting and soundtrack all seem great to me, also.

How do you define overrated?

Yeah you're supposed to be unique, but really the only things you can do to add to the points you get in a kill is by slamming a tire (or something that works in a similar fashion) onto someone, then driving 1-5 pikes in their head.

By overrated, I mean critics fell in love with this game. I got the game expecting to be wowed. And I got it cheap for $24. I though I was getting a great deal. Too bad the game is short, repetitive and dull.

Also, I'm not trying to flame you or anything, I just really hate this game. I returned it today and will go get Deadly Creatures when it's in stock at Gamestop

I really enjoyed the first 3 levels, them get bored and now it's slipping down the pile of games to play. It's phat, but shallow. Don't shoot me (or stick a street sign through my head)!

i thought it was a great game (until i sold it) the graphic style is amazing imo, and the soundtrack is catchy

Madworld is outrageous! I love it. Even though my complaints are very limited to it being too short, multiplayer sucks a bunch, and being repetitive. Actually the "repetitiveness" is actually good in the sense of it's very fun to do what you do in the game. Every area is unique in its own little way. And the boss battles are most enjoyable.

I don't think the areas are unique at all. Yeah the enemies look different but they are all basically the same. Yeah instead of a tire to put on people you get a pumpkin. Instead of a post sign you get a pike. It's all basically the same. The rose bushes, the finishers, the enemies, everything. The only thing unique about a stage was the one special death trap each stage had.

I really love MadWorld. It's heaps of fun to play and there is nothing else like it on the Wii.

It's one of those games where it's not just about ploughing through the levels for the sake of it, but in doing so with style. If you take the time to examine your environment and come up with the most creative kills it is really rewarding.

The art style, gritty atmosphere and sick sense of humour make this one of my personal favourite WIi games.

I really love the Madworld game, but then again I only play it in half hour to one hour stints. Then again its npt one of those games that I feel I have to rush through to complete and enjoy.

I still play madworld. My only problem is it's too short and there isn't online. I bought it the day it came out and I'm STILL finding new finishers. But, hey, if it isn't your cup of tea, don't play it. And if you get bored of the racking up points gameplay, switch to hard and play through it like any other beat-em-up. And if you get bored of that, the hell is wrong with you?

I like the game quite a bit. I have only played all the way through once and I have replayed a few levels. Its just one of them games to pick up and play when your bored after the initial play through at least for me.

I picked up the game soon after release - I liked the art style but for me I couldn't get past the music. I know you can switch it off but thats not the point - for me it was awful. I returned it and put the money towards Little Kings Story.

I like the music. As opposed to most rap one might here, the lyrics are actually topical and interesting/funny usually. I actually downloaded the soundtrack before I got the game. Differing tastes, maybe?

The game looks like everything I hate about modern gen gaming. Extreme, sensless, bloody violence, tons of cursing and raunchy humor--crap. I love the artstyle, but the game looks like rubbish to me. There. I used a british-ism. Look what you've made me do, MadWorld!

the problem with madworld is its trying to fill alot of voids in the wii, adult themed gameplay, violence, cursing.. they just forgot about gameplay

Is an incredibly boring and repetitive game. Yeah it looks "kwel", so what? Is nothing but a tiny weird game that just a few selected people would enjoy, like Okami or God's hand.

Personally I love the game and think it's a blast to play but if dont like thats you choice, it's far from terrible though ide say.

@buffalobob: ...isn't every game something "just a few selected people" would enjoy? The way I see it, some of us are in the target audience and some aren't. Personally, I wouldn't be as dismissive over someone's effort and the people that enjoy it. Maybe I'm twisting your words and taking a personal affront to them, and if so, I'm sorry. ...Also, Madworld and those games were basically made by the same people (former Capcom brains), yet they're all different, so it seems like you don't really like them. Why is that?

@KrazyKain: Well what did you want? Same as with The Conduit, Madden, Mario Galaxy 2, you can very clearly see what the game is going to be like from the "hype" (I wouldn't call it overhyped. It had appearances at the normal press conferences and some commercials [and ign's usual stalkerish following]) They built the game they wanted to build, were you expecting something different?
