So.. If the Wii Speak is dead... how alive is the headbangers headset. To me it doesn´t seem very alive. Can only find two games that support it.
If you are looking to be able to speak to people while playing Wii games than your best bet like some of our GoldenEye players is to get Skype or something along those lines. To be honest the Wii really doesnt embrace the whole voice chat like the Xbox does or the PS3. Which for me isnt a bad thing I dont need to be hearing a bunch of whinny foul mouth teenagers when I am playing my games.

It was never much living to begin with. It's a Nintendo peripheral that you could add to the ever growing list of Nintendo peripherals that are only used by a few games. Nintendo loves to create all kind of peripherals, but hate to back it up with games that actually use it. And so are the third-party's!
"It's as dead as the e-Reader"
The e-reader was living in Japan! There they released all kind of collectable cards with little games on them (think of the Pokemon cards). And there where Mario cards that added extra levels to Mario bros 3 advance, I believe.
Ok I take it back. E-reader was kinda relevent for a year or two. Animal Crossing's island, extra Mario Advance 4 levels, Game and Watch games. Even some old NES games IRRC (Ice Climber!). Fun.
But financially, yes, it's as dead as the army of Goomba corpse that lay around the mushroom kingdom. Come to think of it, where do dead goombas go, anyway?
deader than a deer in the middle of an LA freeway, youd be better off getting the headbanger headset
This statement is flawed. There's so much traffic in LA that cars wouldn't even be able to build up enough force to kill a deer! Then again, the deer was probably dying of LA pollution, so it was going toward civilization hoping a human would help it only to die from poisoning while in the middle of an LA freeway.
I had an extra Wii Speak from an Endless Ocean 2 package and gave it to a friend who had recently purchased a Wii. Problem is that you can't even download the Wii Speak Channel any longer. Not only is it dead, Nintendo erased the evidence of its existence like it was an out of favor Soviet General in a photo with Stalin.

Voice chat functions on the Wii in general aren't very big. Only 2 games support the Headbanger headset and all the functionalities of Wiispeak (which aren't many) don't work with the headset. I'd just forget voice chat all together.

Bought it at Target on clearance, tried to sell it back at Gamestop and they wouldn't take it because apparently it's worth less than a penny. The only use I possibly see for it in the future is maybe recording playing the piano to use in Mix Superstar.
