it`s a damn shame really. there should have been way more games that could have used wii speak. although, i do use the wii speak channel with a couple of friends, it`s better than paying for telephone calls, which is a bonus.
It was probably just an R&D trial run for the chat functions of the Wii U controller. They must've decided they could package it into a saleable item and get some money back on it.
I got it for $15.95, and I knew it would die. But you can use it in some existing games, so it's worth it for them. That Wiiware "make your music" game for example. I'm not really interested in multiplayer, so I don't like the micro-headphones attachments... I use real headphones while gaming sometimes. But as a feature for experiences like that wiiware game, that can be nice.

It's as dead as the e-Reader. Why does nintendo do that? They'll launch something and then not support it. I'd be mad if I bought one.
