Final Fantasy VI: Possible prequel? - Wii, WiiWare & Virtual Console Forum

I just finished Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and I had an idea. What if Square Enix was to make a sequel to Final Fantasy VI? I would love to see what has happened to all my favorite characters since the original. It could even be a similar format to the Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. The graphics would receive minor adjustments just so the game looks great and there could be adjustments to the gameplay as well. Personally, I don't mind paying for additional parts because in FFIV:TAY you were paying 3600 wii points ($36) for over 50 hours of gaming. Most games today, particulary 360 and PS3 games, charge $50 - $60 for 10 to 20 hours of gaming. What are your ideas on this idea? What would you want to be included in a sequel to Final Fantasy VI? EDIT: I changed the name of this topic because since the world is more or less destroyed at the end of FFVI, there can't be a sequel.

It doesn't ruin the original, there's just no need at all to continue the story. Happy ending, rebuilding, etc.

Happy enough to not need any more "story" .... >_>

I know, I know...I'm verrrry biased. But it's the one game I will defend to the death.

I am currently playing FFVI, and it is so awesome, best RPG I have played yet. A sequel would not be possible, but perhaps a prequel if done right. But, I am more intrested in a 3DS remake of FFVI than any sequels or prequels.

If they do a sequel, or a prequel, I'll be not interested: I mean, all the loose ends were neatly tied, Evil is definitely gone, with Hope replacing it totally, and there is really no need to add backstory to characters, as they all already have.
If they do a remake however, it would have to automatically be on the XBox 720 or the PS4 or the Wii2 Turbo HD Remix of pwnage. They should use a REALLY good cast of voice actors, and sport REALLY good graphics. Oh, and also make the soundtrack fully orchestrated... Then I'll be happy.
