A couple of days ago i finally startet playing red steel 2. Especially the finishing moves reminded me of those in Deadly Creatures. It made me wonder, if it could be worth the effort of making a successor of deadly creatures utilizing the motion+. With a not so liniear gameplay (open world) and possibilities for up-levelling / upgrading your spider, scorpion, etc (maybe something flying - hornets...) a sequel could be a real improvement. I am not sure wether deadly creatures 1 did sell well or not.
I never bothered to pick that game up. It did sorta look cool though. No sequel seems likely.

And to be honest - the motion controls for the finishing moves in deadly creatures were really easy-going and fun to use - even without motion+.
@HerOofTime007: The developer was THQ. I mean, that is a big one - AND they are making a sequel for de Blob. I wonder, if de Blob really was more successful than deadly creatures...
I still haven't played this game. I really want to though.
I heard that the lead project manager committed suicide.

Don't expect a sequel, the game didn't sell well at all. It wasn't a great game anyway. Sure, the idea behind it was nice, but the gameplay was repetitive as hell.
I liked Deadly Creatures a lot, but it was very short, glitchy, and some of the mechanics were somewhat annoying. I was also hoping for a sequel where they improve all that, get a better engine, and add much more content. I'm not sure if we will get a sequel any time soon since I've heard it didn't sell very well. Though I found an old 2009 article here saying a sequel is possible.
Yeah, you pretty much took my answer. Wasn't a bad game...but, meh...wasn't that great either.

I thought they just published it, maybe I'm thinking of Cursed Mountain. Though with the current game $5 at best buys bargain bin and apparently it being a commercial failure as that article says.... 3DSWare Non Direct Sequel at least.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

It was a good game and i enjoyed it, but like Link-Hero said, it was short and a bit glitchy at times. I think its sales were pretty lackluster, so i doubt we'll see a sequel, unfortunately. It was definitiely the kind of game that had good potential that probably could have made for a vastly improved sequel once some of the issues were worked out.
I rented the game once (I miss renting games ). It was pretty fun but nothing amazing. Still better than almost anything else ever to come from THQ though so it's a shame they'll probably be stuck making crappy licensed games as usual.
Good idea for a game, and great atmosphere. Too linear though. If they had more Metroid-style progression it would be a killer game. I'd definitely be up for a sequel.
