Got this recently, (along with Alien Syndrome< haven't played much of this yet). It's a pretty neat game. Who else has played this? Did you create any levels? What'd you think about it?
(Sorry if there is a thread on this already. I used the search alittle, but haven't located itand I don't wan't to go through everything to find it.)
Come on. I know some have had to have played this. I'd like to talk more about it, but I'd like to discuss it with others. If I discussed it by with myself, it would look wierd.
it ta'int bad, my good man. but i think the most fun youll have with the game is just making stuff. anyway yeah i made a level thats near impossible to beat

Its a good game. get too frustrating on the higher difficulties but is fun on rookie. some user made levels are great and the original kenta cho games you can unlock are also great. overall a great package for a cheap price.
@Bruinj04- Yeah I'd like to do that. Got to spend some time with it an figure it out. You can only make one level, not like a full game, right?
@Jbrodack- I've past the giant robot on rookie, in campain mode. I'm on either 5 or 6 I think. This level was kicking my butt, whichever it was. Couldn't keep debris attached too long on my ship then. It was fun till then. I'll have to go back and try to beat that level. Eventually I unlock those levels. By the way...How much was it when it was first released? I got mine used at gamestop. If they had had a new one I might have brought this back and bought that, so that the company that made this got paid. They don't get anything if gamestop sells it used most likely. Right?
I never got into tbh. The editing tool is about as confusing to me as Playstation's RPG Maker series. I did download some interesting levels off of their website that I thouroughly enjoyed, though.

I do have Blasts Works, i unlocked all of the bonus games. I do love it but if i had to chose between blast works or tumiki fighter, i had to go with tumiki fighter because it has maybe the same gameplay, but it better too. Blast Works is great because of it's editor, but the gameplay is kinda slugish to me. Well, i did made things in the editor. If anyone wishes to see what i made, ask me :/ I don't really have anyone to share my weird creations with...lol...which is a bummer to me.
Well, this is a signature from someone, it says stuff, and you're reading it.
gamestop has it listed for $10 new and thats about the going rate.
http://gamercreated.com/games/blastworks/ Its the official site for user content so is safe. sign up and you can have everything ever made for blastworks sent to your wii. you can also look around on the forums for a save file that unlocks everything.
Blast works is a lot of fun and its nice how they took a great but limited in scope freeware game and turned it into a retail product. the level editor allows for a lot of freedom and some of the built in levels are quite cool. I like the levels over water and the black and white extra level. Only problem is that there was more of a sense of balance and fairness in kenta cho's original tukumi fighters that doesn't quite make it here. Though to be fair not many developers outside of japan are able to get that tight balance done right and its still a good effort. One problem being that collisions will kill you in blast works while in tukumi fighters they were ignored. With all the bullets and debris it can be hard to keep track of your ship and with blast works putting out more bullets than the original having to worry about collisions can be annoying especially in anything above rookie.
The game isn't perfect but the package overall is great and was one of the games I had been wanting to get even before I got my wii.
I got it for $10 new at Best Buy last summer, it's great. I never got the Depot working for me, and now whenever I try it tells me that my console is already registered and nothing works. =(
By the way I it was level 5 I made it to, in campain mode. Can't get, and keep, as many lives as I did on the other levels. I did do real well for awhile on 5, but eventually got trashed again. If I have to beat the harder modes to open all the extra game, it's going to be a real pain in the butt. Hopefully, I can beat them. Judging by level 5, it won't be anywhere near easy.
Well, I finally got to the level 5 boss in campain mode (at least I think he is, but eventually died. At least I know I can get to him. Might, at some time, start at 4 to build up lives before 5.
@Blue Protoman- I'd rather fight the level five boss, than the level up to it. That part sucked, it was so hectic, couldn't relax on that partl
I still haven't beaten the campaign yet, so I've not unlocked any of the bonus games. I've started putting ships and enemies from Defender into it with a thought to making a Defender themed level, but I just haven't had the time to put into it for a long while now. I'll get back to it someday! There's loads of stuff on the depot, so do check it out. I'd look for the highest rated levels (and read the creator notes because the ships are separate downloads) because there's a few guys on there that do really great stuff.
@Sean thanks. It's kind of daunting trying to figure out how to start creating a level. I haven't registered with that website yet either. I don't like registering for alot of things on the web (Though registering here turned out nice).

I know :3 like that Gryzor guy. His stuff are sweet. - I hope you get back to your level one day :/ I would love to see it. And if you haven't beaten campain mode, and you are stuck on the fifth one. Then let me suggest one thing. Go back to campain 4 and play through it, get 1-ups, and now beat it, play through campain 5(do not quit after 4 because you'll lose everything, of course). On the last level of campain 5, if you do very well, you'll have so manenemieses on you that you'll be able to get to 99 lives XD That literally means you can beat the last boss super duper easily now. too bad it can't play two-four players online, i would had loved to help you out lol XD mreow :3
