Load screens are such a non issue. I mean, if I can go to the bathroom, do my business and then get back before it's finished loading then fine, it's too long... But I've got the feeling that ANY load screen, even if it's there for a fraction of a second, is a huge minus for tools like IGN. The only real potential problem I can agree to is the possibly convoluted control scheme, could actually make quite a significant dent in my gameplay experience but I guess I'll have to find out for myself when it's released.
Yep, I expected a higher score, too, but reading the review, the only thing that might really bother me is the clunky, convoluted "jellybean toss" control. Especially since, if the previous game is anything to go by, I'll be doing it so frequently.
Of course, as someone else rightly pointed it out, it is IGN.
I plan on picking it up. By this point, I kind of doubt WayForward would integrate controls that are as bad as they say...I trust WF much more than that as a developer.
We'll see. I can't wait to hear everybody's thoughts (around here) when it finally comes out.

Which means of course that it's probably one of the higher ratings. I'd bet my left leg that GameSpot is going to give it a lower score. And if this game gets enough attention to get reviews from other major outlets, I'd bet the average is going to be 7.6 or lower (more likely).

Actually I wasn't very clear. I just meant that their "priorities" for enjoying/ranking a game very rarely tend to overlap mine (and from what many of our readers write here, I'm not alone in that). Of everything they mentioned falling flat, the only one that I'd consider a potential obstacle to my enjoyment is the jellybean control.
Regarding score...I expected it to rank higher, but I really couldn't care less. I'm one of those pesky fools who spends his time poking about the words written.
considering how frequently you seem to need jellybeans, I'd say it's a pretty substantial hindrance. What I'd like to know though is just how difficult of a puzzler it is. Do situations really require you to think? Or is it just a matter of going through a bunch of easily recognised chores to get to the goal?

To respond to that, I'm going to travel back in time and magically stick it in the very post you were responding to in the first place.

IGN is just plain stupid. They always do this. I mean look at this list; Sonic & the Black Knight, 3.8, Spore Hero, 6.1, Kirby Air Ride, I think it was like a 5.0, Sonic Chronicles, 6.5. Those games were good, same with ABAHB, but they give it a bad score just because they are just *****************************************************************************************************************

Sonic & the Black Knight has a 55% average - GameSpot gave it a 45% and Eurogamer gave it a 40% (IGN gave it a 39%, not 38%.) Spore Hero has a 61% average - Edge gave it a 40% and CVG gave it a 60%. Kirby Air Ride has a 65% average - GameSpot gave it a 51% and Edge gave it a 30% (IGN actually gave it a 52%, not 50%.) Both IGN and GameSpot gave Sonic Chronicles the same score. Edge gave it a 60%.
You're right. What gems! The only possible explanation why IGN alone would not recognise this FACT and instead give these games such low scores is that they're st00pid and they are just *****************.

@clicketyclick Thanks for agreeing with me. IGN are just **************************************************************
I didn't agree. I distinctly said that they "are just *****************". You said that they "are just **************************************************************". There's a difference.
Eh, they are good with rating games....sometimes. Now movies are a different story. >_> I'll probably just rent this game first, I've been interested in it for a while....wait, THEY GAVE KIRBY AIR RIDE A 5?!
