I was under the impression that Sonic Chronicles wasn't that great out of battles, and in-battle the timed-hits sucked. Luckily there was a chao that makes those timed hits automatically successful as that supposedly makes the game way more enjoyable.
IGN is just plain stupid. They always do this. I mean look at this list; Sonic & the Black Knight, 3.8, Spore Hero, 6.1, Kirby Air Ride, I think it was like a 5.0, Sonic Chronicles, 6.5. Those games were good, same with ABAHB, but they give it a bad score just because they are just *****************************************************************************************************************
Sonic & the Black Knight has a 55% average - GameSpot gave it a 45% and Eurogamer gave it a 40% (IGN gave it a 39%, not 38%.) Spore Hero has a 61% average - Edge gave it a 40% and CVG gave it a 60%. Kirby Air Ride has a 65% average - GameSpot gave it a 51% and Edge gave it a 30% (IGN actually gave it a 52%, not 50%.) Both IGN and GameSpot gave Sonic Chronicles the same score. Edge gave it a 60%.
You're right. What gems! The only possible explanation why IGN alone would not recognise this FACT and instead give these games such low scores is that they're st00pid and they are just *****************.
Clicketyclick. Unless you own those games, you can only go on your own research.

Ramandus. I don't need to have played those games to know that IGN isn't the only one who thought they weren't good, and yet Xkhaoz doesn't have any problem with those sites. If it is reasonable enough for GameSpot, Eurogamer, Edge, etc. to not enjoy these games, then it is also perfectly reasonable for IGN not to. It's not like the only explanation for IGN not liking it is because they're "stupid" as if they are the only ones and are dissenting from the consensus.
I would not let the review discourage you from getting this. It was overall a very positive review. He only dropped it a few points for the clunky interface with the jelly beans. That should not be a deal breaker
They're inconsistant. That's my problem with IGN. Scribblenauts has horrible controls and they gave it an 8.7--this game has "questionable" controls, and they give it a 7.6. (Although despite its control problems, Scribble is one of the most innovative, and one of the most FUN games of all time). My main priority is fun. If A Boy and his Blob game is truly unique (as it seems to be) and really fun (as it seems to be) then I'll totally buy this game.

I don't think controls were the only basis of judgment. Or is this an individual score for controls you're citing? It's unclear.
If it's the overall score, keep in mind that horrible controls can be balanced out by other factors. As far as I can tell, Scribblenauts is not as actiony as Blob, so imprecision won't hurt you as much and you can afford to be more patient with it.
Haven't played either though, so just my unrequested thoughts.
Yeah Sonic Chronicles sucked. I saw it mentioned above and felt I'd angrily heave my 2 cents at Sonic's head from a tall building. Worst RPG I've played in years.

I don't even know who you are anymore. Not that I knew you to begin with... Sonic Chronicles rocked!
I am a sucker for 2-D games (Nostalgia...mmm), so I am sure I will still pick this up, because it looks interesting enough for me. I just have so much to play on the DSi now, and a few new Wii games, so I think ABAHB is just a little lower on the priority list.
Also, I hope we get the original NES classic on Monday...I'm not gonna get my hopes up, but it would make sense to have it come out around the same time.

Like I said. From your own research.

But don't you understand, Clickety? IGN are stupid n00bs because they don't give every highly-publicized Wii game an 8 or higher. The morons!
So let me get this right. I can only understand from my own research that people with different opinions about the game are entitled to those opinions and that they're probably quite reasonable considering how many others see things similarly.
But if I had played the game, I'd know that this is not the case and everyone who disagrees with me is stupid?
Looks great, and I honestly don't care about the score, but I'll have to wait for a price drop. Simply don't have the money right now, and I need to save up for NSMBW

Ricardo, I need some interpretation help here.
Reviews are subjective, and I'm sure there is some pressure in the journalism industry to give similar praise to games to keep legitimacy.
As for scoring, those are ridiculous anyway - especially since everybody's tastes are different. Thats like me saying "that movie got good reviews, that means I'll love it." At the end of the day, your own experiences will be the deciding factor. And also you didn't consider that xkhaoz is actually 11 and probably from a different demographic than you.

Whats funny is this is pretty much the same thing that IGN said, but in this case it "got the score it deserved." They only found a couple of small issues, just like IGN, but you dont knock of almost 3 points for such small issues...
Im pretty sure when all is said and done, that IGN's review will have been the lowest with all the others at 8.5 "or higher." Of course even after people see that they will still say stupid stuff like, It's 2D, it should be wiiware, or I will wait until it's 1$ at my local store...This game rules, and all you XBOX 360 and PS3 suckers cant play it !!
