I think they'll reuse the assets they already have and make Mario 3D World 2.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

I like everything Mario, ( 2D and 3D adventures, not counting spin-off's and sports games as I haven't tried them all ) People complain of rehashing the same old formula, for me I'll take it... I would eat lobster and filet mignon for weeks not complaining that it was the same old thing as last time..

Well yeah, and the best of the Mario games ARE lobster and filet mignon! But a lot of them (New Super Mario Bros) are more like mac and cheese: safe, good, but not an incredibly memorable banquet; most people seem to like mac and cheese but honestly, eating mac and cheese for weeks can make me want something nicer, so I'd rather pay for the lobster.

What about the Mario World special levels, where you play as Mario in a world full of Marios, and you fight Mario enemies and Mario bosses. For a second I had thought Nintendo forget about the plumber!

Also I should mention that I'm with the people that don't want to see a Galaxy 3 or Sunshine 2 yet. I love seeing new things come from Nintendo and even though I do honest to Miyamoto love Galaxy and Sunshine, its because of how different they are from the series yet still have a sense of familiarity (wrap your head around that). I'd love to see a return of Galaxy and Sunshine in the future, but not right now.

Mario 64/Mario Sunshine style game.

Aka expansive free roam sandbox world with various levels to explore.

Aka a real 3D Mario game.

I enjoyed 3D World and I loved the Mario Galaxy series, but it's been far too long since we've had a true 3D Mario Adventure game. So many NSMB games and now 3D Land and World.

I'd love for them to revisit the adventure style formula.

64, Sunshine, and Galaxy were all great because they differed so much from their predecessor. Although I don't think Galaxy 2 was bad, I would have rather seen a completely new game. I feel that if they were to release a sequel to any of those games, it wouldn't be as good, because it would lack the innovative ideas the original games had to begin with.

As a huge Mario fan, I'm excited for this new one. Whether its Platform/RPG/Puzzle you name it. I hope it isn't sports.

What I would want Nintendo to do is maybe try a new art style that's in clay animation like a new artstyle Paper Mario had or something hand drawn because I love those 2d art styles Nintendo used for the adds. But have elements from the 3D mario games with green stars being hard to find, challenges and some replay value would be nice.

It would also be great if this one were on both 3DS and Wii U with both having different features and all.

Nintendo probably treats Mario games and Zelda games like new consoles, endlessly developing something related to Mario and Zelda....

Not really. The N64 had Starfox which was revolutionary for its time.

Who the f*** cares? I'm sick of mario. Where's star fox and metroid?

Just because you're sick of it doesn't mean the others are. Its like saying I'm sick of COD, Creed Series, God of War and all when I know everyone else likes them a lot.

Also play something like Fire Emblem. That'll cool you down a bit.

Here are my 3 opinions of what I would want them to do for the next Mario.
1. Find a new core gameplay mechanic with tons of possibilities and add it to a 3D Mario platformer environment that fits.
2. Make the locations in the game memorable
3. Everytime someone tries to replace an original idea with referencing an old Mario game for reasons, give them a pay cut.

that is all

You do know that Nintendo has at least 7 main development groups? Koizumi is responsible for the Tokyo Software Development Group 2, they never even worked on a Metroid or Star Fox game, I don't think you want them to do so either. Besides, Metroid has been handed over to 2nd party developers lately. A logical guess would be that Retro Studios is working on it at the moment.

Star Fox got a remake in 2011, which was co-produced by Nintendo, but both Adventures, and Assault were developed by Rare and Namco respectively. Yes, it's been 17 years since Nintendo themselves worked on a Star Fox game..

I don't think it's even logical to assume Koizumi would take on a Metroid, or Star Fox game, so there isn't much reason for the complaints either. The only games Nintendo ever released under his management are Mario games, well, and DK Jungle Beat and Flipnote Studio series.. So another Mario game isn't really a big surprise.

True, but there are people complaining about this. Even if it was meant as a sort of joke, I didn't get it, because Koizumi made the comment, and he pretty much has nothing to do with Metroid or Star Fox.

Speaking of Star Fox, Miyamoto warned the developers of Star Fox 64 3D that if wasn't the best in the series, or couldn't sell, they would have to DISCONTINUE the franchise.... And Star Fox 64 3D sold 0.79 Mill.... Bye Starfox....

0.79....about the same amount as Okami, sadly. Both gems, both underappreciated. Starfox 64 was one of my favorite games on the N64.
