@andreoni79: I've never heard the term "half remake" used to describe anything in my life before. From my understanding that term should be a clear cut case of it either being a remake or not, like being pregnant or not for example. Then again I barely know anything about the Ratchet & Clank series so I'm open to a border definition in this case because of my lack of knowledge.
@TheLastLugia: When I try to translate my thought in English, I always miss words so I have to use fantasy! The upcoming Ratchet & Clank is not a simple remake of the original with better graphics and it's not even the original game plus some extra. It seems like they put the original game in a shaker, adding more power and some new ideas with the excellent result you see in the trailer I linked. Unfortunately, Star Fox Zero seems to be miles away even if they used the same recipe.
@TheLastLugia: @andreoni79: The new Ratchet & Clank is based on the upcoming movie; the movie is based on the original game. It's indirectly a remake I guess; similar to Star Fox Zero; it's not the exact same, but it's too different to be a remake. Nobody really knows what to call them I think.
Honestly I've got many different reasons to not buy this very soon: April 12th it's Dark Souls III, April 15th it's Lego City Undercover for € 25 and April 22th it's Ratchet and Clank, which ironically it's an "half remake" of an old game as Star Fox Zero, only cheaper and technically marvellous...
Star Fox will have to be incredibly good to get mine (and other PS4 owners) attention at launch! I imagine it'll probably be something I play 6 months down the line instead.
Dark Souls 3, Ratchet&Clank and Uncharted 4 are all within the space of a month. Such a crazy wave of likely quality there. And unfortunately, whilst I think Star fox will be quite good, it's likely to the worst of those 4.
I also hope Nintendo reflects on the fact that Sony is releasing has a full 3D (full camera control) cartoon platformer for their console before Nintendo has on their console that had a year's head start. They have to see that's a problem.

Not really, as that hasn't been relevant to what attracts people to buy a console since the early 2000s.
I have no idea why people believe 3D World not being like previous console 3D Marios made any significant difference for Wii U success. It's like saying the Infamous: Second Son is what sold PS4s, that's just blatantly false.
I would praise Sony for still publishing an actual 3D platformer, but from my perspective this just makes them even after selling Knack as a worthy successor to Crash Bandicoot.
Well I don't think it's ever been relevant to what attracts people to buy a console. That's an unnecessarily high bar. Very few individual games/genres make people buy consoles on their own.
All I meant was this is a genre that Nintendo pioneered, lots of people love, and isn't being done that much elsewhere, and yet they seem to do almost nothing about it. Very similar to how Squenix were with traditional JRPGs last gen. There's no reason for it. People didn't stop loving JRPGs or 3D platformers. For some reason, people just stopped making them as much.
That is a valid point. But even as a lover of the 3D platformer, it doesn't make a difference to me. 3D World was no Mario Galaxy but it certainly was no Mario Sunshine either.
Sure I'd like something as brilliant as Mario Galaxy was in 2007 or Mario 64 was in 1996 but I've been fine with 3D World being the Wii U game for a while. It just had enough 3D and enough creativity that I'm not annoyed by anything about it. Or maybe just so many other things in gaming I find worse/more annoying that it's hard for me to care in 2016, I dunno.
@kkslider5552000: I agree with you, I kinda find this attitude where unless a certain game is exactly like it has been in a longstanding series, then we're gonna be unhappy about it and complain even if it's good or even fantastic. Super Mario 3D World is the vogue one as far as Nintendo is concerned, and Sticker Star and more to the point Color Splash take it to a further degree (though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as their quality is kinda low), and obviously Star Fox Zero is central to this, with previous Star Fox games getting the "it's not a Star Fox game" treatment and now Zero getting flack because it's a 'rehash'.
And of course it's not just in Nintendo where this happens, I'm currently playing through Bioshock Infinite baffled at the fact that people actually hate this game because it's not set in Rapture and is faster paced and more action oriented. The game being absolutely amazing is irrelevant it seems, so long as the more entitled people get a whine in. We've seen Resident Evil fall victim to this due to it sacrificing quality to appeal to a border audience, and even ultra hyped games like Fallout 4 have come under immense criticism for daring to be different from its predecessors, again the critical acclaim and astounding quality are irrelevant because of the dialogue options or whatever it is people hate in Fallout 4.
I mean, this could go on and on if you're willing to just isolate a particular feature about a very good game and treat it as a sacrilege of the series- why is it necessary that 3D Mario games adhere to the formula it ha been 'rehashing' for well over a decade? I feel Super Mario 3D World showed that there's more that can be done than simply Super Mario 64 2/Super Mario Sunshine 2/Super Mario Galaxy 3. Same with how Resident Evil had to have a fixed camera, yet look at the Metacritic score(s) that Resident Evil 4 relieved. Capcom got it wrong when they sacrificed the series' quality, I don't think Nintendo have done that with SM3DW. At least, let's see what the rumoured NX 3D Mario launch game is before we jump to any conclusions.
It's all a much-ado-about-nothing until we can say that Nintendo have released a poor to average 3D Mario game. Fixed camera or not? I don't care personally as long as the game is fun.
People are unreasonable really. I understand certain frustrations at points, and sometimes they're very valid but people need to take a chill pill at the very least. I was one of the people really angry when he saw 3D World (which is partially Nintendo's fault for not showcasing the cooler parts of the game ASAP, among other things), but it really doesn't matter.
I will say it was terrible timing if you like well spaced out releases though. It was literally the 2nd 3D Mario game in 2 years, both of those were intentionally like the 2D games, and THREE 2D Mario releases happened between the 2 games.
Star Fox U has possible valid complaints but being like Star Fox 64 is not one of them imo. Maybe the controls will get in the way badly, maybe the game will be too short or just fail to live up to why 64 is fun. I don't know! But people being angry at Nintendo giving fans what they've asked for for the past decade is just dumb.
I don't know how to embed videos, so sorry about the inconvenience.
Scratch that. Video embedded by itself!
Star Fox Zero footage, complete with the main menu and such. No sign of online play, it seems... although there's one unlockable mode (I haven't watched the whole video yet, I'll update this post if anything new comes up), but I'm not getting my hopes high.
So I watched the video and here are some of my first impressions:
1. Aquarosa seems hard. Very hard.
2. It seems you can't see what's directly in front of you in all range mode on the TV (in boss fights, especially with Aquarosa). This can be a problem, especially when you're trying to get close to the boss when looking at the TV and unnecessarily crashing into enemies. I definitely hope it's not going to be problematic as it looks!
3. Amiibo usage is somewhat what I wanted, but I feel it's underutilized. Fox unlocks the SNES arwing. Falco unlocks a black-skinned livery Arwing that increases the difficulty. Why not expand from there? More amiibo should be used to unlock themed liveries that provide a set of weapons and advantages. For example, tapping a Kirby amiibo will provide a Kirby-themed livery and might provide a Smart Bomb with a bigger blast radius. So much potential! I feel like it's a missed oppurtunity, which brings me to my next point.
4. Missing online play. Amiibo customization would have been perfect with this, to be honest. It'd be just like Splatoon. Oh well, I'm hoping that last unlockable option is actually a free-for-all dogfight (online, of course) of some sorts, but like I said earlier, I'm not keeping my hopes high.
Aside from these grievances I'm still very hyped for this game. I can't wait for the game, and Guard looks like a fun time as well.
@Dezzy: Do you think I should get Dark Souls 3 or Ratchet then? I'm kind of stuck with Star Fox at the moment, I already paid it off.

@Dezzy: Hah yeah, I've got Uncharted 4 locked down. As for Zelda, I've never been that big of a fan, but I'll pick it up if it reviews well. And as for Dark Souls, I was one of the people who jumped on with Bloodborne, and judging by the gameplay videos, I think I'll absolutely love Dark Souls 3. The only problem right now for me, is that I'm afraid I won't finish it before Uncharted 4 releases, lol. First world problems.

To be fair, I realized at its reveal that specifically wanting Star Fox Zero more than nearly any upcoming release was gonna put me in the minority. But I'm still right so whatever, **** the rest of the world.
This is one of the rare cases where I'm a bit worried about the reviews. I really feel like a lot of people don't get why Star Fox was good in the first place and that it will be hurt by being a game meant to be played and replayed throughout a decent period of time instead of rushing through everything important ASAP like most reviews seem to work (I call this, Kirby Air Ride syndrome). Granted, it isn't like traditional game reviews matter anymore so whatever.
@kkslider5552000: Same. I am not too worried about Reviews but I do think they are doing to be bad just because they won't understand where the enjoyment is.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Area 3 footage from WonderCon 2016 (60fps direct feed with audio from the TV screen):
Off-screen footage of various levels, by JC from the Treehouse at WonderCon:
Also, the Falco amiibo unlocks the Glass Cannon directly. It's currently speculated that it can be unlocked in the game later by the player.
The streaming enbargo for the reviewer's copies lifts next week. The NDA is apparently quite specific about what areas that can be shown, so we will probably not see many new areas in those streams.
