@Jazzer94: ah so i was right. Yea those easy wins made me kinda dumb and got rekt in solo. It was a full A+ lobby too oh well maybe tomorrow i'll rank up
This is a good post that says a lot about player mentality.
This was a good read! I'm glad I got to S before getting into any squads. It wasn't easy by any means and I'm once again trying to get back there. I love the way I learn different strategies the more I play.
I finally figured out how to play on Splat Zones in Hammerhead. I won almost every game once I figured out where I needed to be.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
So, Nintendo Direct in 14 hours. I think Splatoon will get a mention, almost certainly announcing the Office stage and possibly a new ranked mode. Any other ideas?

Looking forward to it although I'm not convinced splatoon will get much of a mention! Hope I'm wrong though
@Jorjaymad-6715 We can hope. Tbh, I think the only reason they'd mention it is if either there was a new mode, or Inklings got in smash, and even then just briefly.
I usually don't complain about my team mates, at most I complain how the imbalanced teams greatly decrease my rank whenever I lose. (ex. my team is filled with s rank players while the opposing is filled with A/B rank players) But that's not really their fault, it's more so Splatoon itself not even trying to make balanced teams in ranked lol.
I don't blame teammates I just adpat during the match and if we lose we lose and after awhile if you're consistently blaming teammates for a string of loses you really need to ask yourself if its just your teammates fault.
At this point, I'm only playing Rainmaker in ranked battles. I'm garbage at the other modes... And so far, my strategies are slowly but surely moving my rank forward. I'm about to break into A+.
I usually just need one other teammate who understands the objective, and I'll be good. A wise man once said, "No more flying solo! You need somebody watching your back at all times!"
@Kinan: but haven't you ever noticed some players that just own with the Rainmaker and hold steady long enough for almost the entire team to super jump back to them? There are clearly players who lead their team to victory, while others depends on someone else to run the Rainmaker.
I think you can contribute enough to see a higher win-to-loss ratio.

I've decided i'm going to be taking a few days away from this game. i'm coming off the back off a massive losing streak and it's not doing my mental health any good and almost flatlined my gamepad due to stress. Maybe i'm not good enough or the weapons/teams are unbalanced but as i'm only level 12 going against level 40+ people with full stats gear it kinda makes things impossible. Most of all some players seem to be able to hit you from the most improbable places.

@Moms-Meowth Lol, so classy and sarcastic. Love it."
There are some things that are simply waaaay beyond your control. In flounder rainmaker yesterday, I made a good run, and then got splatted. I went back out, and tried to ambush the rainmaker, but was ambushed myself, so I got splatted again. The RM had, by this point, made it up to the top, and was heading for our base. I looked at where my teammates were, and not one of them was heading back to our base. Not one. I managed to dive splat the rainmaker whilst it was two away, but we couldn't push back enough for a victory. (Cause none of them wanted to hold the rainmaker...)
THAT is bad teammates. If any of them had even turned around, and tried to go back, I might've let them off, but the fact none of them even turned around, let alone SJ back makes them bad teammates.
And whilst I agree the K/D ratio is often not a show of a good player, occasionally, you'll get an S rank who gets maybe 3 kills maximum to 13 splats. Even at my worst, I'm not that consistantly bad (and I rely on deaths to stealth jump back in for splat for splat). That's why I'm trying to earn my S rank under my own steam, so I don't become one of these really bad S rankers, who've obviously save-scummed or squadded up all the way from C or B rank. It makes you look silly, it makes your teammates angry when they lose loads of points, and It's really frustrating. I would even live with both an individual Squad and an individual Solo rank, if it stopped really awful players from getting to A+. Or make you able to win/lose points in squad, to dissuade S rankers from carrying C rankers all the way up.
But, I suppose we're all a little hypocritical really. Someone else is probably tutting at us and shaking their heads. Probably when I die so much. (But in fairness, I often distract some of the opposition so my team can make an assault to regain ground.) I think being self-reflective when so much is down to luck (And not being able to roll people over because reasons, despite rolling over them several times...), and in fast decisions in the heat of the moment, is largely pointless. You've just gotta try to come back stronger.
