I started playing this again last night, and was having so much fun. I am only level 15 and I have been using the Nzap I think its called. Splatoon you hooked me again lol

@ELI-ASH: Well at least we started to win towards the end by just playing the meta -_- I do hate how bubble effects the whole team but it also helped us loads to.

@yokokazuo @ELI-ASH Thanks for your replies. Think I'll finally have a bash at single player over the weekend and see how I get on. I'm assuming I will receive all the updates at once on my first play. Does anybody have an idea of the combined file size please? I don't have external memory at present and got about 1 GB free. Thanks.

Here's the daft thing: I've actually got two sets of the game and Splatoon Amiibo (because GAME messed up my order), yet I still haven't played it...

@gcunit: Weird, I never really thought of it as a family game, with its online focus. You usually think of a family game as a game parents can play with their kids, and you can't really play this game together in the living room. But I suppose the definition of family game these days means a game for all ages.

@Nicolai: I figured the Family game category is for any games that don't have teen or adult only content - so yeah, a game for all ages, as you say. Family friendly rather than necessarily being a game for the whole family to play at once. Though it really is good enough to justify a Wii U each for every family member I would say, if Nintendo would ever cut the price a bit

@DiscoGentleman: I'm free to play in about an hour, if you want to try and increase your rank via squad battles. I hate playing with random people too... at least you know I'm competent!

@DiscoGentleman: Ouch... I'm sorry luck is not on your side today. I understand if you're burnt out, getting bad teammates over and over again will do that to you. Since Splatfest is tomorrow, we can't do squads, but if you're up for some on Sunday, just @ me, and I'll be happy to help win your rank back. You get to S rank, soon, don't give up!

Would anyone else like to squad up in about 40 minutes from now?

I stopped caring after constantly moving between B+ and A- until I started doing NLife squads which helped me get into A and A+ rank and into S.
What is the rotation right now and what is your best mode? I think tower is my best and after doing it in a squad and getting to 85 points I went solo and won with no problem. Although there always is some luck involved with who you are paired up with since good or bad teammates can make or break your match.

So I ranked up to A again and now I'm vs'ing B+'s all the time. ...
Sometimes, err, most of the time, this matchmaking confuses me.

@Blue_Blur Hey you keep using a ton of smileys. Do you have the list of shortcuts for them (i.e. : ) ), cause when I try and quote them the forums converts it into a text-thingy.

Just click on the emoji you want, and it will automatically copy it. Then paste into your comment, and it should work. I don't know if there is a way to use a shortcut other than that way, I haven't really checked.

If it was up to me it would be the 'Game of the year' .Granted I only own a Wii U but still,I doubt there is any game on either of the other 2 consoles that can match Splatoon in the 'fun factor'.

@DiscoGentleman: It took me at least 8 to 9 tries to crack the S ranks. I was in A+ 90's so much I thought I would never get there. On the last match before I got there I decided I was going to take control and not let my teammates guide my fate lol. Went 12-6 and it felt so good!! It was easy getting back there the second time when I fell back out. It really all depends on the mode and stage.

Something interesting that I just found out is that all of Splatoon's weapon variations all fall into categories that determine what the name of their variation will be.
