Topic: Splatoon - OT

Guys on my chat on my stream an energy drink company /esports sponsor was on my stream. I wonder if they are researching the posibility of Splatoon as an esport?

Has any noticed the 'SplatApp' on GooglePlay and I presume IOS? Just downloaded it,It's an unoffical app of the Splatnet site but works exactly the same,can log in with your NNID and even get notifications for the rotations.Handy to have

@OorWullie: No I didn't, I'll have to check that out right now. An app with notifications sounds awesome.

I remember some people also did that with Miiverse but no notifications.

I think Europe was supposed to get a Halloween Splatfest as well. In the picture (from Nintendo Europe's Twitter) there's Love vs Money, Pirates vs Ninjas and Ghosts vs Zombies.

That would've been their best choice yet. Although Vampire vs Zombies would've been a bit better.

@Inkling that zombie inkling looks kind of like one that is in mid transformation haha.

I think zombies woulda had gotten the highest in pop by default.They can still do it a week late dont they celebrate the day of the dead in ireland?

Quick question: how accommodating is the game for complete beginners like myself? I bought Splatoon day one but I've yet to play it.

I don't mind starting from scratch (ranking up, etc) as that's part of the experience, but it might get a bit frustrating if I'm being constantly slaughtered online. I don't want to be put off... So I guess what I'm really asking is: any tips for a newb?

@Monkey_Balls there are some players who have played Splatoon for awhile in turf wars so you may have difficulty against them, but I don't think it would be too bad and once you can do ranked battles then I think it could be easier since most people at the lowest rank are usually relatively new as well.
I think playing single player would help you get down the basics and learn some techniques.

If there is a specific kind of weapon you want to use (shooters, blasters, rollers, Chargers, brushes, etc.) let me know. Other people on here use a variety of weapons so I'm sure we could help you learn to use a specific one. (I mainly use the charger and have used the brushes a bit as well.)

@Monkey_Balls: I wasn't much into games like this myself but i think im doing ok against others. Try testing out different weapons and see which one you like best. I started out with the roller first. Practice games on turf war/private and once you feel confident. Jump into rank.

The next rotation starting in about 40 min is tower control. any1 want do a squadzy?
